...live. About Etap: Etap is a European chain of basic-service budget hotels owned by the Accor Group who also own Ibis. Booking: This was made via the website on www.etaphotel.com It was quick and easy, even though it asked for a credit card number you pay on arrival by credit, debit card or cash. We were given a confirmation email with our booking reference.
Arrival: The directions on the website are good and just off the A38 going into Birmingham ... ...large, plain white building with Etap clearly marked. It took a few moments for the security gate to open and a hotel employee waved us in. It turns out that there was only one space left and since my boyfriend drives an old Mini she was eager to get us in as the one space left was too small for every other car! There does not seem to be ample car parking but there seems to be plenty of space on the streets nearby-it’s a residential area with new ...

Advantages: cheap, clean, friendly staff Disadvantages: quite a walk from town centre
Etap Hotels are another budget hotel chain created by Accor, the creators of hotel giants Ibis. This 250 room complex is situtaed in the centre of Birmingham and all rooms cost £35, whether its a weekday or the weekend. But for this price, don't expect luxury acommodation, as luxury is probably the worst word to describe this hotel.
The rooms are clean and modern and sleep up to 3 people. In most cases, this is either a double or twin beds with ... ...good for the money. You do get a television (complete with an array of English and European channels), but I can't guarantee that you'll get coffee and tea making facilities, as some rooms seem to be missing these. There is also no hairdryer or anything like that, but you can get one if pay a £10 deposit at reception - you will get this returned to you at the end of your saty (unless you break something!) There is a wash basin in all rooms, and a ...

Advantages: Chepa and comfortable and close to city center, mailbox & brindley place Disadvantages: not enough plug sockets!
I have stopped in this hotel twice now with my girlfriend so wanted to write a review about it. Most people would look at the £35 a night cost and think the hotel must be a dump. This is very wrong. The staff are very friendly and seem happy to help. There is a free secure car park but get there early as there aren't as many spaces as there are rooms at the hotel. The room is very basic, there is a double bed with a single acroos the top of it. Sink, ... ...you just want one night in the city then this is the best place to stay. My girlfriend and I did't want to spend hundreds on a room that we were only going to sleep in so this hotel was perfect for our needs. The room is very clean, shower is really spacious and hot (or cold if you like it that way). I can't praise this place enough and if thinking of somewhere to stop I would always recommend this. even has air conditioning! easy to find off the ...

I booked this room via active hotels for £40, room only. For only one night- and we checked in 20:00, it was acceptable. Bathroom was newly fitted, clean and roomy. Bed and beddings were very nice. But other than that, the hotel has a dated and dirty... more
