Etihad Airway Ey 0612, we are a family of 4 with my wife’s nephew also traveling with us.
On Saturday 28th February 2009 my family and I arrived to Casablanca international airport at 6.30am to depart to Australia. We went through the usual protocol, we arrived to where the passengers were boarding, handed our tickets to the ground crew, This is where the problem started; we were given the wrong boarding passes without our knowledge. The lady at the boarding department gave us a pass from Abu Dhabi to Australia. We made our way down to the plane. As we arrived into the plane we were given directions on were we were seated.
We made our way only to find that the seats were allocated to two other passengers and my wife was seated 13 isles away. I sat my two kids down aged 4 and 6 and made my way to the front of the plane to discus the problem. I raised the matter with one of the flight attendant only to be told that nothing can be done about it as the flight was full and return to my seat. I knew for a fact that there were 17 spare seats and five of them were side by side we got into a disagreement, she was rude and disrespectful to me and my wife, called my wife a dog in Arabic and a number of other rude words. I reminded her over and over again that this is there mistake and it has to be rectified before we fly. I requested to speak to the Captain at lease five times and was again rejected that privilege
The plane was delayed for over an hour and a half, we were told either we apologies to the flight attendant or we had to all leave the plane there was no other alternative By then the other passengers were getting involved with rude comments to the staff about there behavior towards us. We were then told to leave. They removed our luggage left it on the runway sent us on our way. Mind you it was around 9 degrees. No body from the entire Etihad Airway would help us or wanted to get involved. I am requesting immediate action towards the flight crew and dismissal of Soumia, flight crew chief. This whole matter was handled wrong and this should have never happened we should have never been told to leave the plane.
The seating part we could proberly get over in time, but the part when the flight attendant called my wife a dog, it was in Arabic. She obviously thought that we wouldn’t understand what she was saying because we were speaking in English and also had an Australian passport, that’s when we replayed back in a rude manner, The flight crew didn’t hear her say that or there not admitting it, why would they, again that’s why the captain decided to take action like he did with out the knowledge of what Soumia said to my wife, we were told either we apologies to the flight attendant or we had to all leave.
“Apology after what” calling my wife a DOG (Kalbe) as we returned back the airport, my wife was taken straight to the medical center suffering from an asthma and anxiety attack and we have a certificate from the specialist doctor in Morocco out lining just that..
The customer service manager just stood there as if nothing was going on and was happy for the flight attendant to continue taking control of the situation. Nobody got involved as if she was some kind of queen or something, I have heard many stories about Moroccan flight attendants but not to this extent no other member of the staff would even comment expect her???
I have requested a full refund of our trip and nothing less
I have correspondence from the following members of Etihad and replied with nothing but cover-ups and excuses

Advantages: inflight entertainment. Friendly staff Disadvantages: still quite new so give it a chance.
...so far. We flew on Etihad Airways from London to Abu Dhabi return in Oct 2004. Knowing it was a new airline we did look online for a few reviews regarding this airline – and I am afraid it was mostly negative ! People were mainly moaning about the unfriendly staff and the awful food and comparing it to Emirates.
We decided to fly by Etihad anyway. We thought since we are going to UAE, we might as well go on one of their national airline. My husband ... ...so did not deal with Etihad directly. The economy flights cost £160 each with a 30KG baggage limit. The outbound flight was Sunday night, and the plane was almost empty. We pretty much had a pick of the seats! So we opted for the spacious seats near the emergency exit – plenty of legroom ! (to the joy of my over-6ft husband) In fact we had the whole aisle to ourselves. I think the plane was empty as it was low peak season and probably because it ...

Advantages: Laptop Plug!!!!! Disadvantages: No disadvantages anymore than any other airline
Etihad was voted the World's Leading New Airline for three years in a row at the World Travel Awards between 2004 and 2006 - and it's not difficult to see why. New planes; a decent seat-pitch; a state-of-the-art entertainment system; laptop plugs; a generous reward programme, cheap airfares and quick journey times. It ticks all the boxes. It all didn't start too well mind. My efforts to book seats over the Internet ended in abject failure as the ... ...quote we'd received. Etihad really set themselves apart from the moment we arrived at the airport. Within ten minutes we had checked-in and were ready to make our way airside. We boarded the new Airbus A340-600 to be awed by the 10.4 inch seat-back screen - the largest in the sky. Over 500 hours of movies and TV programmes kept us entertained. There were films for every taste - 74 of them. From classics and new releases to Asian, Arabian and European ...

Advantages: Lower prices, less time checking in, half empty plane Disadvantages: Less choice of flight times and dates than other airlines, especially from Gatwick
In a nutshell, Etihad is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and it flies to and from Abu Dhabi. Flights are mainly from London Heathrow, with limited flights (currently one per day) from Gatwick. This is annoying if you live near Gatwick, and that time doesn't suit you. Etihad also fly to far eastern destinations, such as Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, Colombo and Mumbai (with a stopover in Abu Dhabi, obviously). I travelled ... ...Yes, I did say Dubai. Etihad don't fly to Dubai, but are still an option if you're headed there, as Abu Dhabi is right next door. It'll take under an hour (well, traffic permitting…) to get to where you're headed in Dubai.
You can't book flights directly on their website, www.etihadairways.com, and you can't see prices either. You can book flights online through the usual travel websites.
The check-in queue at Heathrow was nonexistent, literally ...

...my ticket changed at the Etihad office, only to be told they couldn't extend my ticket as I had brought it on promotion and instead I would have to buy a brand new ticket. Quite a shock. There was another Eithad office in the town center and I went to them, they changed it without question and for the £50 fee initally quoted.

a receipt and that was it, all very quick and easy. That left me just to trot downstairs and off to the duty free area.
Abu Dhabi duty free is not as glitzy and glamorous as Dubai, but they have a similar selection, certainly a good variety, and at competitive prices. It is also more compact and less irritatingly pushy, in my experience. I picked up a few very low priced DVDs (genuine), some PC accessories and of course a bottle, then was off to board my EtihadAirways flight, refreshed and relaxed. ...
Advantages: Under-seat sockets for laptop plugs; Fast; Friendly; Free Hotel Disadvantages: No Seat-back entertainment between SEL and AKL
THE CONS

THE BITS & BOBS
I travelled out in September 2008 in economy class between London & Auckland.
The ticket cost £760 return all-in - £200 less than the next cheapest airfare I could find for my dates.
