I am a french and german student, currently on my year abroad in the Lille Region. Euralille mall has a diverse range of shops, ranging from the well known, international chain stores to the more unique french boutique. Whether you are looking for a quality leather handbag or a dazzling accessorie to match your new outfit. Euralille has it all under one roof. For the budding artist you will find, Loisir et Creation, a sparkling grotto filled with treasures. If you are struggling to find a birthday gift for your children pop up to the gadget store, filled with wonderful gizmos and inventions to try out in store. If you just want to relax, there are various traditional cafes and Brasseries, with amazing selections of golden pastries and tasty treats- Certainly somewhere to leave Grandma while you treat yourself to an afternoon of retail therapy. Having dropped Grandma off, the kids can be wildly entertained in the enormous adventure play area, with nets and ball pools, ideal. At the end of the day, pop up to Carrefour, and stock up on school materials, videos, clothes and groceries, at cheap prices. I will be leaving Lille in a few weeks but I will definately book a eurostar ticket from England just to come shopping in Lille for the day, to enjoy the relaxed French ambience, the rich coffee smells, the sparkling jewellery and whats better is that having jumped of the eurostar, the mall is only a two minute walk from the station. A great days shopping and stress free for all the family.

Depending on the type of your visit, there is, like most cities, so much to visit and see. Lille offers a wonderful shopping centre (mall) called EuraLille which is situated between the two railway stations and is very hard to miss. This huge complex was built in the late 1990's and brings a touch of modernism. It has most of the well known shops one would expect to find in France and also offers a supermarket. Other supermarkets can be found on the outskirts of the town so no need to fuss about parking if you ...

Advantages: Near London by train, cosmopolitan feel, excellent transport connections, eating out, plenty to see Disadvantages: Dog poo
) and stylish knick-knackery. The streets to aim for here are Rue Basse, Rue de La Monnaie and Rue des Chats Bossus. Beware though, quaint and cobbled they may be, but pedestrian precincts they?re not ? cars still make a stroll slightly hazardous, as does the one thing I can?t forgive the Lillois for???.DOG CRAP!!
Whilst it would be unfair to say it?s everywhere, it is to be found sufficiently often to take the edge off gazing up at the Flemish architecture and walking at the same time. It?s particularly hazardous when towing two wheels of a small suitcase, since it?s not only your own feet you have to look out for.
The third shopping category, is the now almost obligatory indoor mall, in this case, the massive Euralille Centre next to the Lille-Europe station, and conveniently situated by the far end exit door to the platforms ? only old hands ...
