...holidays. As a charter company Eurocypria airlines were the airline allocated after originally being booked with Monarch, an old favourite of mine, but for some inexplicable and unexplained reason Olympic changed the airline. Who am I to question the bureaucratic idiosyncrasies of who I fly with to my holiday destination as long as I get there intact and in one piece?

Eurocypria are located in Cyprus, no surprises there as the name ...

Although Eurocypria first started with airbus 320s they now have a fleet of six Boeing 737-800s the last being delivered in April of this year. This sounded good to me as I am a fan of the Boeing 737. They do run a minimal amount of scheduled routes, but mainly to obscure European airports, their main forte being in the charter sector.

Eurocypria=Never again !

Advantages: We got to our destination, JUST !
Disadvantages: Pretty much everything

...our 3 bags and the Eurocypria staff gave us food vouchers becasue of the delay. They were very helpful that there was a problem with the aircraft at Paphos and that we would have a short delay. 5 hours later...then 6...then 7 ! We were still waiting for news about our flight, getting very bored. I kept checking the flight departures board and when I went over I found the board saying we were having an indefinite delay ! I told the rest of this news ...
...for a week ! The thing was we didnt have any apologies or anything about the delay. This was very poor. If I was you, I wouldnt fly with Eurocypria ever again after what we had gone through. No compensation or anythin which we were promised. NEVER AGAIN !!! ...

A City with a Beach

Advantages: Good touring base, plenty to do
Disadvantages: Busy town with heavy traffic

of the return flights I looked at was often equal to or greater than the cost of a package. I already had accommodation arranged as a relative of mine owns a house in Limassol. I managed to get a flight with Eurocypria Airlines for £265, the cheapest I could find. When working out your timing it's worth remembering that Cyprus time is two hours ahead of GMT. We had a hire car waiting at the airport but I was told a taxi to Limassol would cost about £40 each way for up to 4 people from either Larnaka or Pafos airports and can be pre-booked from the UK online. Our hire car cost about £15 per day for a largish Toyota with air conditioning but it's possible to hire a small car for a week for very little more than the cost of a return airport taxi. ◄ Getting Your Bearings ► I was surprised by the size of Limassol. It's a big ...

Review of Limassol (Cyprus)

No frills but reasonably good value for money

Advantages: Competitively priced last minute deal
Disadvantages: None in our experience

We booked a last minute family holiday to Limassol in Cyprus over the New Year with Golden Sun, which was very enjoyable and went without any hitches. Having woken up the morning we were due to fly to find it was snowing heavily we were expecting the worst, but luckily Manchester Airport had invested in some super duper snow shifting machinery which meant that we were only delayed for half and hour while they de-iced the wings. We flew with Eurocypria, and the flight both ways was fine although the seats were a bit stingy with legroom compared to other airlines we have flown on. If you book a vegetarian meal or have any other dietary requirements out of the ordinary, make sure you remind them of this at check-in, as they forgot to load our food onto the plane on the way back, and we ended up eating tomato sauce and butterbeans - which ...

Review of Golden Sun

Bad flight times.

Advantages: Cheaper than the rest.
Disadvantages: You miss part of your holiday.

the opticians seem to have trained in the UK. The Cypriots are very friendly and you never felt at all threatened. My complaint is with the flights. We arrived in Paphos on the Saturday evening at 8.15pm, yet two weeks later we were leaving Paphos at 7am in the morning for the return journey. We lost at least half the day. My warning is to be careful of the timings of the flights. Portland were using Eurocypria who were a useless airline and the staff were so rude on the way out. You felt as though you were putting them out to ask for anything. We also asked if the Hotel could provide us with some breakfast on the return morning as we were leaving at 4am, but the Rep said as we were leaving early it was basically our problem (despite the fact that Portland had changed the flight to 7am). As it happens we spoke to another Tour Rep who ...
