Europa Hotel, Munich

...The Europa hotel has the dubious distinction of being the most bombed hotel in Europe. Thankfully those days have largely gone from Belfast and you should be assured of a largely undisturbed nights sleep. Pricewise it would be at the top end of the market, but for this you get a superb central location within stumbling distance of most of Belfast's top nightspots and attractions. You will always be assured of craic in any of its three bars and you will have no shortage of both local and international characters to pass a few hours chatting to. I liked the poshness and image that goes with this hotel, only the culloden has more , but its not in belfast. so it has to be the EUROPA... Read review

Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: Expensive and IMHO overated

...After reading the other two ops in this category on the Europa, I was really looking forward to my stay here. Over the last few years through both business and pleasure I have stayed in hotels the length and breadth of not only the UK but mainland Europe and have come to the conclusion that you have seen one room, you have seen them all and to stick out from the crowd they have to possess something pretty special, such as my 6’ 6” bed in Amsterdam or my 3ft deep bath in Prague, well I am sad to say that the Europa let me down on both these fronts but more about that later. The Europa is Belfast’s largest hotel with 240 rooms and has hosted some rather famous guests including I believe Bill Clinton. Advantages: nice and tidy rooms, good service, yummy breakfast
Disadvantages: not that easy to reach without a car

...This year in March we stayed for a weekend in the DERAG Hotel Prinzessin Elisabeth in Munich. (4 stars) We found the hotel over the internet: http://www.deraghotels.de/en/ -------------------- room: The double bed room was really nice and tidy. Bathroom was big and clean with a bath and shower. Towles and hairdryer were provided. We also had a little kitchen with dishes, microwave and kettle. In front of the double bed was a little living area, with couch, two chairs and a little table. Every room is equipped with: high speed interent access and TV ---------------------- costs: double: 110 Euro per night including breakfast. (big breakfast buffet) ---------------------- location: The hotel is located in walking distance (10 min) to the Deutsche Museum. Unfortuately it's not that easy to find... Read review
