Watch out for hidden extras when renting from Europcar

Disadvantages As above
My wife and I rented a car from Europcar/InterRent in Spain. The quoted price was pretty good. However, what they omitted to mention was that, even though we were on a collect with a full tank of petrol and return the car empty, their charges for petrol and for refilling the car were, in my opinion, exorbitant. Normally car renters don't charge a service charge to refill a car on a full/empty contract. Europcar did and it was something like 40 euros. Nor would anyone in their senses run a car until it was nearly empty in a foreign country - or anywhere else for that matter . In common with so many other people, we returned the car with just under half a tank of petrol but they didn't take this into account even despite what I consider to be their high charges. So, if you're thinking of renting from Europcar, do bear this in mind.
