Advantages None

Disadvantages Poor customer care, fleet mainanance

Having been an employee with Eurosun, I would strongly advise that you stay well away from them. Their only interest is making money at the expense of fleet maintenance, employee wages and customer service!

While driving for this company, my coach along with the rest of the fleet, suffered frequent break-downs all due to a severe lack of maintenance! Here is the story of just one of these incidents:-

I left Lowestoft in the small hours of the morning, as I had to travel to London to pick up a load of passengers who needed ferrying to West Runton. I arrived at London Gateway service station in order to take a break, before continuing on my journey. Soon after this my coach began overheating so I pulled over (safely) and topped up the radiator, only for it to overheat soon after. On inspection, I discovered a leak in the pipe between the engine and the chassis rail. I called my boss, explaining the situation and he advised me to continue to my pick-up point (only 5 mins away) and help would be waiting. I arrived at 6am and found no help, so explained the situation to my passengers, reassuring them that we would not be held up for very long. I called home again and was advised to take my full coach to London Gateway where help would arrive. This, usually short, journey took an age and we finally arrived at around 7.30, again finding no help, so I suggested my passengers should go for breakfast. I called the office hourly from here on, always to be told help was on it's way, but eventually, and quiet understandably, by 11.30 my passengers where becoming very irrate with me. I called the office again and explained all this to my boss, but he just told me "You're there, you deal with it" and slammed the phone down!!!!! This made me angry enough to swear in front of my passengers!

The trips organizer came over and asked about the situation, after explaining things to him and apologizing he understood my position agreeing to call the company he'd booked with making a complaint.

I then called the sales office, who where far more helpful, they made some calls themselves before calling me back advizing help would be with me within a few minutes...... and it was!!!! Unfortunately, after an hour of trying, the mechanic was unable to repair the damage.

I called my boss, yet again, and he told me to drive to Toddington where another coach would be waiting. This is just 20 miles but it took 2.5 hours to make the journey, only to find on arrival, no connecting coach!!!! Oh what a surprise!!!!! When it did finally arrive, it's driver went for a break while the organizer and I re-loaded all their luggage. It was 6.30pm when they finally left for West Runton, some 12 hours late!!!

I was left then to find my way home, another mechanic was called, but again he was unable to repair the coach so I was asked to try and nurse it back home. I left at 7.30 and finally made it back into the depot at 1am! Some 24 hours after departure! (yes I did have some choice words for my employer!!!)

I would strongly advise, if anyone has any other complaints about this company, they should call the local traffic commissioner who will be able to ensure things are sorted out.

Mr Steve Whitlock did work for EuroSun for about 2 years. He did have a breakdown on the above date which was the water-pump on the coach. This coach had a new engine costing £5000 6 months earlier and so the water-pump was covered by the guarantee. The pump just gave up wth no warning, and couldn't have been helped or forseen Mechanical items will go wrong, and in this case a coach was hired in from Bedford and the driver was late due to traffic problems, which couldn't be helped, and Mr Whitlocks wife (at the time) brought out a coach from Lowestoft and met the coach half-way cos the Bedford coach company's coach had to be back at his depot.. Since December 2003 Mr Whitlock has been working again for EuroSun Coaches with no problems. If he had all the problems as he stated i don't think he would have worked again for us over the past 14 months with no problems. And has covered many miles in EuroSun's coaches including trips to France & Belgium as well as many tours to Wales, Cornwall etc etc etc I hope he will think a little more before writing reviews like this, especially when he asked for his job back 2 months later lol!

Welcome to Ciao, not a bad first op. You talked a lot about your experiences, yet not a lot about the actual services and facilities this company offers. If you include more useful info about the company, i'm sure you would gain better ratings. Good Luck
