Well... what can I say about Eurotunnel? What an amazing mode of transport. Recently voted one of the seven wonders of the modern world, it has spectacular consumer care.

What there is to know about Eurotunnel?

Ticket Prices:

Day's trip/Day overnighter tickets from £22 each way (DT)

T&C's of this ticket type.

Non refundable, only valid for the booked date and time. You don't travel then you have 24 hours after you booked departure time to amend it. These tickets are valid for one year so if you can't travel then you can amend them upto one calendar year from date of booking. If there is a difference in the ticket price then you will have to pay that as your amendment fee!

Trips 2-5 days from £39 each way. (SBS - Short Break Saver)

T&C's of this ticket type.

Non refundable, only valid for the booked date and time. You don't travel then you have 24 hours after you booked departure time to amend it. After this time they will be invalid. These tickets are valid for one year so if you can't travel then you can amend them upto one calendar year from date of booking. once you traveled out on the ticket, you can extend you journey upto the maximum of midnight on the 5 calendar day if you need more time but after this if you haven't travelled back or amended then the ticket will expire and you will need to purchase a new one for returning. If there is a difference in the ticket price then you will have to pay that as your amendment fee!

Trips 5day+ from £49 each way

T&C's for this ticket:

Non refundable, only valid for the booked date and time. If you don't travel then you have 24 hours after you booked departure time to amend it. After this time they will be invalid. These tickets are valid for one year so if you can't travel then you can amend them upto one calendar year from date of booking. If there is a difference in the ticket price then you will have to pay that as your amendment fee!

2-5 day first class £149 each way (Short Break Flexiplus)

Fully refundable, non amendments fees. Valid for one year from date of booking. You don't need to stick to the times and dates chosen as you can travel whenever you like within one year. Whatever day you decide to travel, you have 5 calendar days from that date to return. You get priority boarding for whichever train you turned up for and if you vehicle is under 1.85metres in height you can also use the flexiplus lounge and have FREE light meals and soft drinks and a newspaper for all people travelling.

5+ first class £199 each way (Longstay Flexiplus)

Fully refundable, non amendments fees. Valid for one year from date of booking. You don't need to stick to the times and dates chosen as you can travel whenever you like within one year. You get priority boarding for whichever train you turned up for and if you vehicle is under 1.85metres in height you can also use the flexiplus lounge and have FREE light meals and soft drinks and a newspaper for all people travelling.

... My idea, Book in advance!! The further in advance you book, the more chance of grabbing yourself a deal. Try not to leave you amendments close to the date and time of travelling as they could be a high price to pay!

Frequent Traveller:

Travel alot to the continent?
Buy 20 return day/day overnighter tickets for £500 and they last for 1year

£500 you pay for the account if non refundable. You can travel out when ever you like and back either the same day of the day after. There are no supplement fees to pay and no amendment fees. These accounts are for the account holders only. If I friend family of relative wants to travel, then the account holder must travel with them.

If you use up all of your allowance this is how much you can save!

Minimum: £380 per 40 single tickets
Maximum £2620 per 40 single tickets

Buy 10 trip on the Frequent Traveller for travels longer then 2days for £390 these also last for one year.

Supplements are to be paid for vehicles other then cars, vans and motorcycles

There are peak times and off peak times. At peak times you pay a supplement of £20 and on busier days £30 each way.

These accounts are for the account holders only. If I friend family of relative wants to travel, then the account holder must travel with them.
These tickets are fully refundable before travel and any supplement or peak pay will go back to card it was charged from.

All of these frequent Traveller account must buy the minimum but you can have more at the time of opening. Once they have been paid for, you cannot add on anymore and must wait for either the account is used up or expires

What about Disabled users;

Prices are the same for disabled users. They do have priority boarding for safety reasons and they must arrive an hour before check-in to ensure they get onto the train with comfort.

Insurance:

Need Travel Insurance or European breakdown cover?
Try and beat Eurotunnel. It would be hard.
Motor breakdown provided by the AA and travel insurance by Mondial Assistance. All you have to do is to have a booking with us to be eligible. Eurotunnel also do Annual insurances which you only need to travel once with them for a year and you can travel with whoever else you like to be eligible. And trust me, they have it covered.... 'Xcuse the pun :P
Green cards, these do not cover you for Europe. They reduce to third party fire and theft. You can however get a day's European breakdown cover from Eurotunnel at a discounted price by the AA at £8.99 and a days travelling insurance per person for £6.00
It is more advisable to buy the All-in-one which can cover your vehicle and upto 8 passengers for £12.99 for the day

Our single trip insurance can cover people upto the age of 99!
Annual covers are you passengers upto the age of 70.

What does the European Motor Breakdown cover you for?

Well the main things are for
Vehicle recovery back to the UK upto the current market value
Roadside assistance and emergency repairs
Break-in - Emergency Repairs
Car Hire - 7days in advance
Alternative travel arrangements' if you would to carry on your journey but have no other means (rail fare, taxi or economy air fares at a total limit of £750 or Car hire for £75 per day)

Pets:
You only pay for dogs, cats and ferrets as these are the only pets that need to be checked for ticks and worms due to them possibly being able to bring rabies to the UK. If you take pets, you only pay for them returning not for the outward leg and you need to have the pet ticked and wormed a minimum of 24 hours before check-n and a maximum of 48hours before check-in.

Guide dogs travel FREE.
Any other pet can travel and no extra costs... including crocodile and Elephants! (;>)

Where to go and Check-In:

Euro tunnel's dedicated turn off is Junction 11a of the M20. As you come off this junction, you come into the self check-in machines which you check yourself in and save alot of time fussing around.

There are manned booths as well for people's convenience.

When do they run?:

They have trains running every 20past and 10 to the hour every day, 24 hours a day. On busier days they would have even more! Upto 5times an hour.
Each journey lasts 35mins from Folkestone - Calais.
Eurotunnel can only have cancellations if the platforms for where the cars get on are too icy or heavy snow has fallen. In extreme rare cases are any of the shuttles aborted.

No they do not do deal packages unfortunately however you can view special offers on their website for information.
