I recently flew from London to Florida with XL Airways, part of Travel City Direct. The whole set up of the airline worked perfectly, we had no problems checking in and the flight left only 20mins or so late, which is obviously expected on a chartered airline. A big 'no no' about the flight was the basic cleanliness...on our trip out we found a load of empty sweet wrappers stuffed down the backs of the seats and there were crumbs all over them as well...we were guessing that this was missed by the crew on their clean up beforehand, but this became doubtful when on our flight home, they were still there! (Thats the joy of pre-booked seats i guess!!) I wonder if anyone else encountered the same problem?! The entertainment on the flight was OK; the film was projected on to a solid wall on the plane, a novel idea, but not very useful when you are seated on the back row of the section, as we were! It made watching it a pain in the neck, literally!! With regards to space, we were quite lucky because the back row seats were placed slighter futher apart from the ones infront so we had no problems with leg room! I can imagine though if we had different seats, space may have been an issue. The food was fine, a selection of 2 meals and a vegetarian option as well and the staff appeared very friendly and attentive to the passengers needs.
I guess I would fly with XL Airways again; they are quite cheap but maybe on a slighter shorter journey, as the entertainment facilities avalaible are quite limited for a long haul flight!

Very happy to see a flight review (you will see I am keen on this topic) but wish you could offer a little more detail. In general an account of the check in, boarding procedure, specifics of what the meals were, the drink situation (and I guess prices as I assumne non soft drinks are charged for), safety procedures, crew appearance and attitude and (assuming you did) comparrisom with the return would all help. Sorry to appear critical but I think whar you wrote was useful in its own right. If you do decide to add to your review in the future please tell me and I will be so happy to re-rate.
