Advantages: An Old Fashioned Theatre with atmosphere Disadvantages: Poor leg room in the Circle
...I took my son to see Amanda Holden in Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Shaftesbury in February. Unfortunately, she was ill and the understudy stepped into her shoes - literally! The performance was good and the atmosphere was exciting for an 'out of towner' used to more rural pleasures! We booked Circle seats through www.Lastminute.com - 20 pounds each - not bad, I thought - and collected our tickets from the Box Office one hour before the performance. With great anticipation we went upstairs to our seats. The Royal Circle, where we were sitting, are the 'posh' seats and usually cost up to 40 - 45 pounds each. I'm glad that I did not pay that much for them. Most of the audience were put into one side of the circle even though there were spare seats towards the back across the aisle. Advantages: Big place lots to do and many things to see Disadvantages: It's a big place - can be dirty and a bit grim at times

I'd met them once before so intro's weren't needed and the first part of the itinerary had of course been missed (by me turning up at 7:45 for breakfast instead of 7:30 - wrists slapped).
Now firmly in control to the obvious annoyance of the long suffering S, but to the sheer amusement of the two smaller S's, V trailed us all out to the car - mine that is, his would be rather...

Advantages: Wonderful surroundings Disadvantages: Expensive if you have to pay full price
...in the reception area and we proceeded to our room. The lift was immaculately clean and the hallway to our room was spotless. The room allocated to us was standard but the Rembrandt has 195 en-suite bedrooms which include superior and executive class rooms.
Our non-smoking room was very clean and furnished to a high standard. There was plenty of storage room – large double wardrobe (safe deposit box inside this wardrobe for your valuables), dressing table/drawers and a chest. The en-suite bathroom was large enough and had a power shower over the bath. The bathroom surfaces were marble and the toiletries provided were by Gilchrest & Soames and were wonderful. Consequently, a few slipped into my bag to take home (well, my daughter had paid for them after all!). We had soaps, luxury foam bath, luxury shampoo and individual shower caps. The towels were...

The L Shaped Room is a must read and I think it should be on the school curriculum. It is an interesting piece of literature with a great story and character you really care about. It is a book that is as much as a period piece as any of the classics due more
In modern day life families fall apart, move away and loose touch. Barely any get the chance to ever see each other again as both sides are as stubborn not to get in contact first. It happens regularly, but what if it’s a bit more serious than just more
