Exeter International Airport, East Devon

Exeter International Airport is my preferable airport to fly from, but that is solely to do with the fact that it's a 10 - 15 minute drive from my house.

Recently revamped, Exeter airport is quite a relatively small airport situated around 5 miles outside of Exeter towards Clyst Honiton.


Car Parking

Recently revamped, Exeter airport is quite a relatively small airport situated around 5 miles outside of Exeter towards Clyst Honiton.

Car Parking

The airport has long stay and short stay parking with 4 car parks on site, the short stay car park car park 1, is a very short walk (50 yards) from the departure entrance and you can park there for free for 15 minutes, you do need to use this car park even for dropping off or collecting people as there are no waiting bays. To use this car park you obtain a ticket on entering the barrier at the car park and use it on departure.

On entering the terminal the booking gates are directly in front of you and clearly marked out. There is a desk directly to the right inside the entrance for tickets being collected from the airport.

Airport trolleys are free to use.

There is a small shop in the main terminal stocking books, magazines drinks, sweets and so on, at reasonable prices.

Caffé Ritazza (land-side)
This land-side coffee shop situated in the main concourse has seating both within the terminal and on the piazza. Caffé Ritazza offers a selection of sandwiches and snacks together with a great coffee experience. This catering facility is available from the time that check-in is opened for the first flight of the day.

Currency Exchange
The bureau de change in the main check-in hall will provide most currencies for destinations from the airport. For best rates (0% commission) order from Travelex Online (24hrs notice) or

Cash Machines
ATM cash machines are situated in the check-in concourse and in the departure lounge. The departure lounge machine offers Euros. The ATMs accept Link cash cards and the following: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Cirrus, American Express.

Departure Lounge (air-side)

The departure lounge offers comfort and style before your flight. The catering and shopping facilities are available from the time that check-in is opened for the first flight of the day.

The lounge is fine fixed metal seat/benches don't expect comfort, the departure lounge is light and airy and there are some internet booths to use.

This facility is exclusively available to flybe passengers and offers comfort and style before your flight. Passengers should see the airline's representative for more details about this facility.

Airport Shopping (air-side)

World Duty Free (air-side shop) offers fantastic savings over High Street prices. In addition to duty free spirits & cigarettes, customers can choose from a wide variety of fragrances, skincare & cosmetics products, confectionery, sunglasses, handbags, jewellery and watches.
To make your life easier all passengers travelling within the EU can purchase items and collect them on their return in to the UK. Just ask a member of staff in-store for details.

This air-side Food Village restaurant offers a selection of hot and cold dishes. Catering facilities are available from the time that check-in is opened for the first flight of the day. The Bar (air-side)

The air-side Bar is accessed via the Food Village and has extensive views over the airfield. The outlet sells beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and light snacks. This outlet is managed by Select Service Partner (SSP).

Caffé Ritazza (air-side)

This air-side Caffé Ritazza offers an authentic Italian espresso-based coffee menu with a wide range of award-winning coffees from espresso to latte and cappuccino, all made using the traditional Italian method by fully trained baristas. Caffé Ritazza also has a wide selection of hot and cold snacks, which are all made freshly on the premises. These include a mouth-watering array of ciabattas or toasted paninis and Caffé Ritazza's new Mezzalunas - an authentic Italian bread pocket made with olive oil and served either hot or cold. For a sweet treat, there are delicious pastries, cakes and muffins on offer. The facility is managed by Select Service Partner (SSP) part of the Compass Group.

To buy food at the airport is expensive, and I normally take a little packed lunch.

There are no tunnels to board the plane you walk to your plane.

Staff here are pleasant and friendly, I have never had any problems flying out of this airport. My flights have generally been on schedule going out.

When yyou have collected your bags you can then head out to meet and greet area, which is very small and where your taxi driver maybe waiting for you otherwise they should be able to pick you up just outside the doors.

Overall opinion

A very pleasant hassle free Airport without the huge queues.

Summary: Great for me as I live 15 mins away :-)
