Advantages: Central, friendly, good music, nice staff Disadvantages: The heat
The Exit Bar in Charles Street, Cardiff has now been open for about 8 years. Although essentially a "gay" bar, it is friendly and open to anyone who likes to enjoy themselves and have a good time - gay or straight. The Bar is down a few steps and usually livens up once the pubs close at 11 o'clock. The music is mainly chart/dance, handbag, garage based, but caters to everyone'e tastes. In the Summer, there is a really nice garden outside where lots ... ...bar which, admittedly, can get a bit too much. The prices are about average for the rest of Cardiff and, after 11, there's an entry fee of £1.50. Even so, the atmosphere is great and friendly and opens till at least 2am on weekend nights. So give it a try! ...

Advantages: good tunes Disadvantages: can get hot and sweaty
The "Exit" bar, situated on Charles Street, just off Charles Street in central Cardiff. What to say? Well, as you step cautiously down those steps leading you into the sub-level (in several ways) club - you can't help but be reminded of "Frasier"'s predecessor, "Cheers"...oh, never mind. But - inside, there's a big, small feeling to the place, in that the dance floor really isn't that big, but seems to have a hell of a lot of people on it when things ...

Advantages: Reasonable price, Spacious room Disadvantages: Bit out of town and on a busy junction
...Taking up an offer of 170 euro for two nights I jumped at this hotel when I had to stay in Eindhoven. A fair walk to the city centre and definately a taxi ride to the rail station this is an excellently equipped hotel. After an efficient check-in I entered my room and was amazed by the amount of space but on starting to unpack I realised there was nowhere to hand my clothes, but then I found the annex room with the wardrobe. It was too narrow to be a dressing room and to preserve modesty you had to be dressed to go there and get your clothes as it looked out to a busy junction.
The room had internet facilities, cable tv and a mini bar. A nice hotel feature was that on leaving the hotel in the afternoon there was an exit/entrance you can use without traipsing through the reception.
The hotel bar was a bit small in relation to the size...

Advantages: Very scenic, very quiet slopes even at the weekends, able to ski off piste. Disadvantages: Ski pass was as much as $50 per day each. 4 hrs drive from San Francisco and final hour is up in the mountains and scary in the dark and in a snow storm and fear of avalanche.
...We travelled to South Lake Tahoe for a skiing trip in March 2000. Embassy Suites, a bit pricey but worth every penny. Wonderful accommodation, staff very helpful, apre ski absolutely free from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. Very big suite with separate lounge with television and microwave, bathroom big and dressing gowns supplied. Breakfast is served in the centre of the hotel and seen by all guests upon exit from their rooms on the ground level amongst the living large foliage. Breakfast was very varied but be careful not to pig out too much as skiing can be hard in the morning on a full stomach. Evening Restaurant in the hotel not very exiting but locally there are some great bars but beware, no smoking in any of the Californian bars. Dont worry Embassy Suites on the Nevada/Californian stateline so can smoke in the Nevada bars, restaurants...

Advantages: Clean and friendly Disadvantages: Distance from Grand Place
...My partner and I stayed here for two nights from the 29th Feb, we stayed on a room only basis and didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant. The room was quite large and comfortable which also had ensuite facilities however some of the decor was starting to look a little shabby, we noticed a couple of cracked tiles in the ensuite and a fire exit sign hanging off in one of the corridor. We did have a drink down in the bar during the course of our stay and found this to be quite expensive. The hotel is located a fair distance from grand place etc and it us about an hour to walk there. Overall the hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly....
