After visiting Barcelona for a few days, me and my friend caught a train to Valencia and stayed in the expo and was plesantly suprised.
Its location was excellent it was literally around the corner from the tube station, and was within throwing distance of the main shopping centre which was full of restaraunts and shops!
Compared to the hotel we stayed in at Barcelona, this was not as stylish nor as posh but with its price it was def nice, clean, and fabulously located with easy access to the transport links. It did take a few minutes to get into our room mind as the door was stuck but after a bit of tough love we got in, reported it and it was sorted quickly! After a few hours we decided to catch the tram to the beach, and found the stop about 10 minutes walk away although finding it was a bit of a challenge as it seemed to be in a random street but worth it as the beach was huge and had lush golden sand but not a typical british beach you would find in your usual resport it was more spanish, or a mixed of nationalities all catching the rays in the gorgeous 30+ degree heat!
The pool in this hotel is located in the roof top, which is usually the case here and it was a fair size, clean, pleantly of sun loungers but very busy. When we were there it was the yearly tatoo convention so the hotel itself was full of rough looking bikers, covered in tatoos from all over europe but dispite looking rough they were actually very friendly although they did take over the place. The bar in the hotel was ok, nothing special but quite and relaxing and the hotel itself had a few ammenities to get on with and the rooms were clean and had aircon but more basic than some hotels but this is reflected in its rating. Staff were very pleasent which was nice, and happy to help out and always seemed to be smiling!
Personally if your looking for a base to get your head down in a clean, friendly, ideal location then this is the place you and as it only cost us about £22 a night it was ideal. Valencia itself was a gorgeous place with narrow streets next to main roads with beautiful architechture and ample shops and restaurants all over.
One thing i forgot to mention was the food in the hotel, this was nice and reasonably priced and the drinks were reasonably priced too. Menu was what you would expect from a spanish town, and i preferred to eat out at the shopping centre behind in a lush usa themed restaraunt but if depends what food you like to be fair.
