...in Turkey is by air. Thus THY serves around thirty cities in Turkey from Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Their longhaul intercontinental network can be neglected, it only includes four destinations in North America, three in the Far East, plus South Africa, and the service provided on THY's long haul flight wouldn't satisfy any European traveller. Thus my review will focus on their short and medium haul services. ------- FLEET ------- Turkish Airlines have built their fleet mostly around Boeing's 737. The backbone of the fleet are around twenty 737-400s, yet THY are currently adding around twenty Next Generation 737-800s with a new class concept. Advantages: What advantages? Should be renamed the NoStar Alliance.
Disadvantages: Too many to list.

...As many of you know, I am a frequent flyer on several of the major airlines. My travels have taken me to many parts of the world on several different airlines, some good, some bad, some not worth mentioning. This is an extremely long review. So, you have been warned! Personal History = The last time I flew with Singapore Airlines (SIA) was more than 10 years ago. On that fateful flight, the plane was delayed many hours, due to 'unforeseen technical problems'. They boarded , and unboarded (alighted) us many many times and did not even have the courtesy to provide the passengers with refreshments. Advantages: Very easy to earn points, without flying
Disadvantages: mediochre airline

...I generally don't really care about the different mileage plans out there, because there are so many loopholes that it almost makes them worthless in my eyes. I still sign up for all of them and I still use them, but normally, I don't think much about them. I don't have a clue how many miles I have on most of my mileage plans, except for my Alaska Airlines mileage plan. How to earn miles With Alaska Airlines, you can earn miles in so many different ways, that you quickly have tickets built up. Unfortunately, I hate the airline itself, so that's not always the best thing. With Alaska Airlines, you can earn miles the standard way that most mileage plans work, with flights.
