Express By Holiday Inn Bath, Bath

...It is very conveniently situated on the Lower Bristol Road and it is only a short walk away from the centre of Bath.

There are 126 rooms (91 are non-smoking) over 4 floors all with WIFI access, en-suite shower, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, cable/satellite TV and in-room movies. As a family of 4 (including 2 young children), we have to travel up to Bath quite regularly and we always book into The Express by Holiday Inn hotel.

Obviously being part of a chain, it doesn't stand out from the crowd and is probably like all the other Express by Holiday Inns all over the world, but it's a very functional hotel, clean and spacious, bright and central and it is very good value for a city hotel. We always book via the internet and have usually paid between £60 and £70 for a room for the 4 of us, although this is usually booked well in advance of our visit. It is very conveniently situated on the Lower Bristol Road and it is only a short walk away from the centre of Bath.

The rooms are spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children and there is a large lounge bar which is handy for when you come back from traipsing round the sites of Bath (and the shops). In the reception area, there is an ice machine and vending machines. We have to say that a big bonus is the complimentary continental breakfast which is included in the price - another bonus is the free parking - city centre parking is very expensive, and rare, normally (especially in Bath).

At the information desk, we found very helpful staff who were happy to provide us with a shedload of information on the attractions of the city, from Bath Abbey, Sally Lunn's Refreshment House, the Roman Pump Rooms - just to mention a few. Bath also is bursting with a wide variety of interesting architecture, superb eateries, museums, open spaces and gardens and is a really 'buzzing' city. And it has great shops!

Well worth a visit!
