This hotel is good value for money and its closeness to Luton airport is its main pulling point! Booking- Booking was easy online, however did require a credit card, which is a little hard when you have debit card. We were lucky that in our party someone did have a credit card. Booking over phone was tried to, but that was soon forgotten as it was difficult to get answers to you r questions to the useless reception staff that answered the phone who could barely understand English. Check in- very easy and very quick and there were no problems. As soon as you enter the hotel you get a nice vibe, I think the hotel is decorated like standard but look very nice and a higher quality then any other hotel I have used. Rooms-The rooms were standard rooms, which two beds. The room was fully equipped to our needs. I have always found Holiday inn hotels to be very nice especially their bathrooms. Dinner- We ate dinner at the hotel and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised as it was very tasty and relatively good priced. I thought they would over charge for bad tasting food. I had a vegetable lasagne with garlic bread and it cost £7/8. The hotel was fully equipped with vending machines and a bar. Breakfast- One thing that really pleased us was that breakfast was served from 4am especially good for us as we had to leave at 5 for our flight! The food was your standard continental breakfast but I have to admit was very good at the variety. There was cereal with a vast variety of choices. There were croissants with butter and cheese. There were plenty of drinks available too (milk, water, juice, applejuice and tea). Booking a taxi was easy, in reception there is a free phone that goes straight cab companies and it only takes them about 10 mins max to get there. It took the cab only 5 mins to get to the airport as it is so close and that also meant it was cheap!
Overall, the express by Holiday Inn at Luton airport is very good if you have a flight at Luton as you are so close, you can see planes all around the hotel but we were not disturbed at night by any noises. It's quite cheap, a double room for a night costing two of us nearly £25 which is not bad. I would definitely recommend it.
