Restaurante A Fonte, is from the outside a small place but a little like a tardis on the inside, with covers in the main front dining area for 30 and then at the back another room that can seat another 20, so not a bad size.
Robert found it on one of his saunters whilst I was sat by the pool reading. All he saw was the board on the end of the side street and thought I will go and look. He did and liked what he saw so 11 of went and had dinner there 3 nights out of the 7 that we where staying in Cabanas.
All the staff spoke wonderful English and put our attempts at Portuguese to shame.
The food was excellent and we went back again and again.
The cover is wonderful brown and white bread and butter, tuna pate, sardine pate, olives and between the 11 they placed 4 plates of each.

Entering the place you are immediately hit by the manufactured atmosphere. The Spanish latino salsa style music, and the smell of assorted dishes. Jen and I chose to have a G and T sat at the bar, which was a great opportunity to glance around and take in the place properly. It's a fair size but either to promote the atmosphere of a small Spanish tapas bar or merely to improve their economy the place is crammed with diners. Waiters rush around, all of whom appear to be Spanish, they seem energetic and full of traditional Spanish hospitality. I wonder if the La Tasca management offer some kind of training ...
