Having previously stayed at The Farifield Inn near International Drive in Orlando, we had hoped that this hotel would be as equally as good. We stayed this time at the 'Fairfield Inn' at Lake Buena Vista. On first impressions things were fine, staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly, the reception area was large, welcoming and well decorated. The pool area was nice, clean and towels supplied. Rooms were equally well decorated.
Then came time to sleep!! After 2 days I surrendered and went and bought ear plugs to drown out the all night noise from the near by motorway. Windows were single glazed and the motorway extremely busy. Granted it was a busy time of year during the holidays but the motorway caused even more problems - each day we would jump in the car eager to visit one of the many fantastic florida attractions. We would just get out of the entrance of the Lake Beuna Vista Marriott Village and spend the next 30-40 mins sat in traffic simple trying to start our journey.
Our stay in the hotel was around New Year and was shared with several american youth soccer teams and jazz bands!! Several rooms were occupied by youngsters alone without an adult. As we found out when we had to ring reception to complain at 4am in the morning when the young people using the room adjoining ours decided to use the inter linking door as a drum - a frightening experience, one which the ear plugs did not conquor!. However, reception were extremely helpful once again and sent security up to the room, we were also informed that if it persisted then the young people would have to move not us, which was reassuring.
The only other concern I have with this hotel was that if you did not manage to go down for breakfast particularly early then you could not get a seat. Several people ate in their rooms or reception and we even received a pass for one complimentary breakfast at the adjacent 'Courtyard Hotel'.
It is important to note that this review is based on 'The Fairfield Inn' only and not the adjacent 'Courtyard Hotel' or 'Fairfield Suites'.
