On our departure we requested compensation for the first night but we got nothing. Instead we were been given business card and a promise that something will be done for us on our next visit.
Less than a month later I had to return to Paris on another business trip, I contacted the hotel to find out that the business card, our previous booking and the incident were all forgotten. Of course I went for another hotel and had more peaceful nights.
I need to say add that the hotel room at Concorde Lafayette costs 450 euro at that time but we only paid 180 euro as per a business agreement between my company and the hotel. This does not justify the poor quality of the service of course.

Before getting married I went to Paris to do some shopping as that is the 'in' thing to do.
I was scared that I would have to walk around this unknonw city finding some nice boutiques.
However, a friend advised me to take a 'Taxi' and go straight to Gallery Lafayette.
She was absolutly right - and that was the only place I went shopping in Paris. They have everyhting you can imagine, in any size, and reductions all year round - which is not so necessary as the clothes are cheaper there then in London to start with.
