We stayed at this Hotel in 2006 and have to say it's one of the best we have stayed in.
As soon as you walk through the door to the reception area, your greeted with a drink of whatever you fancy, along with an ice cold towl to help cool you down. Theres no hanging around in the Hotel Lobby to check in, you asked your name, given a room key then shown to your room. The rest of the check in process then takes place in you room and you ... ...are about 10 meters from the beach but on three floors. We were fortunate enough to have a ground floor room so were straight onto the beach.
The rooms were well equipped, with Mini bar, Internet access, good bed and good quality furniture and well equipped bathroom. Plenty of Wardrobe Space and a good sized seating area. There was a TV, DVD player, CD / Radio. The Mini bar was a bit pricey but aren't they all.

On our first evening there, we ordered room service food which with a bottle of wine cost about $50. The room service and food brought was very good. We sat on our balcony watching the sun set as we ate .
The Hotel grounds are superb and we ever had a troop of Barbados Green Monkeys passing through the grounds.
Breakfast in the Hotel was Excellent with choice of A La Carte or Buffet. We tried both but the buffet was excellent. A great choice of fruit, meats, eggs, cereals, yoghurts and pastries - not much you would want to eat at breakfast that you couldn'y get.
In the afternoon, the Hotel provides complimentary afternoon tea - very traditionally English, just like Grandma used to make every Sunday, tea, sandwiches and scones with jam and cream.
Ann the Concierge was excellent and recommending good places to eat and making reservations and ordering taxis.
We never ate in the Hotel Restaurant on an evening - It was a bit too highbrow for us on holiday, a bit too formal. Also, there are some fabulous restaurants within a few miles of the Hotel.
There are a few beach sellers visit the beach but all the ones we encountered we friendly and polite and left you alone if you said no. Yvonne, a beach seller with a more permanent stallwho sells sarongs, etc was very friendly great company too.
The Hotel staff look after the beach very well, keeping it clean, raking it on an evening and providing longers on request. They even bring Hotel Guests Ice lollies and Ice cold towels regularly.
All in all, I would highly recommend this Hotel but would suggest you hire a vehicle if you are able to. You can walk into Holetown but its a good walk - do it two or three times a day and your legs will notice. A car is a great way to see the Island too. Barbados is not very big and it not easy to get lost. The roads are especially easy for us Brits as they drive on the same side of the road as we do.
The beach and sea are superb. If, like me, you like snorkling there are better places, but there still plenty to keep you occupied here and the sea is very calm making it ideal.
