Faliraki is a bay on the island of Rhodes. It's beautiful by day and night and offers anything a tourist can want. It's perfect if you're 18 and leaving college, about to embark on uni and in want of one or two last weeks away with your friends and away from your parents. There are a vast amount of water sports, (of which I chose to Parascend from the back of a boat) as well as a bungy jump (of which I did the second day of my holiday) and a reverse bungy, which I didn't have time to do. The bay is fairly calm, it's hardly the west coast of France so there are no rapids but this just makes it more apealing to the eyes of younger children, so yes, there are a range of ages. The night life is by far the best asset Faliraki has to offer, and will be divine if you travel here in a large group. There are two streets which cross, nicknamed Bar street and Club street for obvious reasons! Bar street is the place to start, mind you, not just for drinking, but the music is played so loud in all the bars that the street appears something of a carnival as people dance in the street, on the tables and elevated platforms etc, and if you go there, you will too, i did! After midnight, the music stops and people head towards the clubs, a favourite has to be Q club, with three rooms, offering, either House and garage, Cheesy 70s/80s, or soul/ R&B. After a nites clubbing is over, you take your mates to the beach and hang about on the sun lounges until sunrise and chill with eachother until it does, when you all fall silent. when it's over, you grab cabs back to your beds location to sleep. There is enough free access to out door pools and free ouzo, courtesy of all the bar staff of faliraki. NB, the nicest pool to do(!) is the one at the appolo beach hotel, (Free access to non guests). Whilst staying here, there is also a possiblity to go to Lindos to view an acropolis and spend some time in a town which is 10 degrees hotter than Faliraki, (if Faliraki is 35 degrees, well, you do the maths!) Or you can pay Rhodes town a visit, and do some more cultural things like, visit the many museums, go to the aquarium (not especially ineteresting) and go shopping. don't forget to get your henna tattoo done! There is a beautiful town not far east of Faliraki called Kalithea and this may be worth a visit, to see what the Kalithea springs are like. All said and done, you have to go here, and you have to go here while you're still young at heart. In short it offers, free swimming pools, watersports, a gorgeous beach, extreme sports, culture and boat trips, to keep you occupied during the day and and excellent nightlife with it's many bars, pubs and clubs. You will meet with a friendly crowd, majority being english speaking but you won't forget it, ever.
