Watch out for pushy guys

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Pushy men.

...and with a large terrace, Falstaff is great for watching the world drift by. They serve you "amuses-gueules" with your drinks and beers are cheap, and service good. The only disadvantage to this place is one more for ladies than men. Often pushy men will come and sit down and start talking, and whilst the chat is initially harmless, and they come across as being friendly, they soon start asking very intimate details, and get very person, ... more

Be Sure To Keep Your Head

Advantages: A piece of living history.
Disadvantages: Not a lot.

tame ravens hopping around on the Green. There have always been ravens here since time immemorial, and the legend is that the Tower will crumble and fall should they ever decide to leave. (possibly the person who Shakespeare based his famous character Falstaff on) There are nearly a hundred inscriptions carved on its walls by past prisoners. This list is by no means complete, and doesn’t come close to the true number of its victims, many of who were buried in the Chapel of St. Peter ad Vincula, or in the burial ground that lay ...

Brussels...its a Grand Place

Advantages: Cosmopolitan with plenty to see and do
Disadvantages: Ridiculous hotel prices midweek

---------------------- These are listed in my order of preference: La Mort Subite (The Sudden Death): perhaps the best fruit beer cafe in town La Becasse L'Imaige de Notre Dame La Fleur à papier doré : this was the 1920's meeting place for the Belgian Surrealists - very atmospheric. Het Spinnekopke Le Cerceuil (The Coffin) : this bar is quite special. It's decorated like a morgue, complete with coffins, skulls, black velvet, etc... La Porte noire : situated in an 18th century cellar with a great choice of beers. In the following list you will find cafés that are not typical beer pubs. These cafés are in the grand Parisian or Viennese style. Most of them are worth visiting for the beautiful settings alone. The Cafe of Hotel Metropole : this is in the Belle Epoque style. The Falstaff (café and restaurant) : A beautiful café in Art Déco style ...

They can be rather considered as cafés in the grand Parisian or Viennese style (coffee, cake, wine). They are sometimes situated in Hotels.
