Advantages: Cooks beautifully, easy to clean, easy to understand the controls Disadvantages: The light from it is a bit bright
I had been planning to buy a JML Halogen cooker for some time due to the praise given by my daughter, but when our microwave packed in it had to be a new one or opt for the JML Halogen, as we only use the M/W for de-frosting and warming up a cup of milk occasionally, I bought the JML. Our cooker duly arrived in less than a week, and was promptly sent back the same day, the fan did not work, however a replacement arrived in a few short days, (brilliant service)
I do most of the cooking in our home, ( YES I AM A MAN) and my first attempt was to cook truffle buns which came out beautifully, then roast potatoes, fantastic, then I tried a fruit cake from a conventional cook book at 200 deg. c , I had to take the cake out after 36 minutes the top was as brown as I dare let it, it was awful, WRONG TEMPERATURE, if I had looked at the too small ...

Advantages: Easy and quick to make Disadvantages: Had no complaints yet!
I had read about snickerdoodle cookies in a US book and although I loved the name it gave me no clues as to what it tasted like. A bit of searching told me that it was a plain, soft cookie with a cinnamon flavour. I printed off a few recipes and by a process of elimination adapted them to produce the family's definitive snickerdoodle recipe.
You will need American cup measures for this recipe
Preheat oven to 190 deg C (375 deg F or gas mark 5)
1 cup butter or equivalent
1.5 cups white sugar
2 medium eggs
3 cups plain flour
1tsp baking powder
0.5 tsp salt
for the coating
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs separately and beat well. Sift together the dry ingredients and fold into the mixture. You will end up with a fairly firm dough.
