Federas Taverna in the resort of Golden Beach on the Greek Island of Thassos has a lovely beach side location.It is situated down the far end of the resort near the old square. From the exterior it looks welcoming with seating both inside and outside on the terrace. Compared to many tavernas in the resort it is certainly one of largest and perhaps has a higher degree of commercialism than the others nearby. The menu is extensive. The quality of the food is very good and the prices were very reasonable. We had Stuffed vine leaves as starters and Shrimp Kebabs and Sea Bass as our main courses. When it arrived it was beautifully presented and was hot (not always the case in Greek restaurants). We were given a complimentary glass of ouzo which was a nice touch. The house red wine was above average and was in our opinion very cheap, The downside of eating here was the service. we waited ages for our order to be taken , and the staff attitude was rather surely, When the food was delivered it was" plonked" down in front of us without any comment or a smile, Any Greek customers definitely got preferences service. to summarise we had mixed feelings about dining here. The food was excellent and the service was terrible
