Great apartments in Puerto Del Carmen

Advantages: Clean, friendly apartments
Disadvantages: Steep hills

We stayed in these apartments in late Septemder and thiught they were great. They are in the centre of Puerto del Carmen and are rally close to the beach just 200 metres and the main strip of bars, pubs and restaurants. There are supermarkets located at each end of the street. Use the hill beside the spar as it is not as steep as the one on the left which they call cadiac hill. The apartments we stayed in were opposite reception they are 1 and 2 storied in three different locations - oppsite reception and pool and to either side of the pool. The apartments are spacious and have large a living/kitchen area, bathroom and bedroom. There is a tv in the room with some English Channels however you can pay at reception to get more channels like movies. We found them extremely clean and the maid cleaned every day. Ciudad de la fiesta

Advantages: Low cost of living, Climate, People....
Disadvantages: Too much building work!

I've been lucky enough to have had my mum living in Marbella for two years now, and I love it there so much - in fact I'm moving there permanently next week! I fly out there about six times a year from Manchester or Gatwick, and the flight takes between 21/2 to 3 hours to Malaga (the nearest airport). However, British Airways also fly to Gibraltar and I believe Monarch also offer the same service. Although Malaga is geographically the nearer airport, I wouldn't rule out flying to Gibraltar as the road this end of Marbella is a lot quieter and the drive much more pleasant. Marbella is on the south coast of Spain in the Costa del Sol. The costa stretches from Torremolinos (at the Malaga end) down towards Estepona (Gibraltar end) with the Marbella district in the middle. Review of Costa del Sol (Spain)

A Nice Place To Visit...

Advantages: Great weather
Disadvantages: 5th Avenue is oh so touristy

Playa del Carmen, about 45 minutes from Cancun, is a beach resort on the Mexican Riviera Maya. It is supposed to be what Cancun was like 20 years ago - quaint, friendly, less-touristy. I never made it into the hotel zone at Cancun but if what they say is true, I dread to think what Cancun is like because Playa is essentially Blackpool-meets-Benidorm. It's fab. I came to Playa to do a month long teacher training course with the intention of staying for a year afterwards. But things don't always work out like you've planned and I left a month later to take up my current job in Mexico City.
