The Fiesta Aparthotel Tropico is one of the most family-friendly and lively complexes in Magaluf and around Palma Nova. Being a mere 5-10 minute walk from room to beach, the Tropico is ideally situated, and has lots of excursions and activities going from it everyday.

Being in Magaluf, one of the primary British tourist destinations in Mallorca, the Tropico has prime access to loads of quality resteraunts, bars, clubs and places to see and do, with the little effort of finding it. Magaluf beach isn't far from the apartments themselves, and finding it is fairely easy. The location is fantastic.

The features of the place itself are on the same level; fun for the kids, a big pool, games arcade, kids room, football court and other activities that'll keep the adults and kids entertained. The clubs for the young ones are Thompson's own, who own the resort. You can get Dolphins and Sharks, which many of you might know, and the 'From 2pm creche" will keep them out of trouble while you do a bit of sunbathing or shopping. Shops are easy to find, and I recomend one just past the Tropico's sister hotel, the Fiesta Jungla. Go through that, (over the football court) and you have a nice little shop which is really cheap but has a good supply of wines, foods, fresh bread and other goods.

The pool is serviced once every two weeks, and sometimes, once every week, after it closes (around 7PM) so it's clean, and safe to swim in. It has a toddlers section (about a foot of water) and a childrens section, that would come to a 6" man's waist. Then there's the big pool, which is linked to the other two but seperated by a wall or railings. Games like funding the euro are played in the pool occassionaly, which is great fun, and water polo too.

The complex is quite big, and has a total of 368 rooms, spread over 4 floors. There are a couple of lifts to get you up there, but I recomend using the stairs, unless your burdened with suitcases and bags. The bar serves soft drinks and alcohol, and has various karaoke nights and some nice rep shows too, which is always good if your bored, which I doubt you will be. The Red Lion Bar also has a nice English Breakfast in the morning, that's very well priced, and has a lot on your plate.

The Thompson lot are very professional, and have excursions like balloon flights, trips in the mountains and market place outings which are quite interesting in themselves. For the car booter's among you, there is a boot sale held every Saturday morning to the right of the Tropico as you walk out the main doors. Be warned though, it does get VERY hot there, take some water and a hat, unless you're doused up with Factor 101 suncream. The KidZone reps are very good with the kiddies, and they each get a hat and a T-shirt when you go to the Welcome Meeting (day after you arrive, main bar which is just off the reception). They get prizes, such as a CD case and bag when they win prizes, which they're bound to do at some point during the holiday (it's innevitable, you'll have more luggage to take back!)

Travel on the island itself is easy. There are loads of taxi ranks all over the place, and all the drivers I've been with know the Tropico in Magaluf, and they get there nice and fast, too, for quite a cheap price.

Overall, the Fiesta Tropico is a very well-established and family-friendly hotel, that will most definately have you coming back a second time. And for the price that Thompson have it for, it's pretty good on that aspect too!
