I stay at this hotel quite regularly on business. In fact it is my hotel of choice in South Wales, so that must say something.
Whilst not a golfer I can quite easily understand that the golf facilities are fabulous, from the rolling greens through to the state of the art driving range and simply excellent club house. This is golf for the big timers. I understand it has hosted an array of big golf events including the senior open.
The gym - which is free to guests is absolutely fantastic. If that place hasn't got the equipment that you need, then I don't know who has. The gym and golf courses are also a big draw in the local area. The downside of this is that these facilities are so popular that it sometimes means you have to park some way away from the hotel on it's extensive private car parks and walk down to reception ...

Apparently the hotel is the place to stay for the racing drivers when it's race weekend at Silverstone, so if you're a Formula 1 fan then the bar is a great place to hang out if you want to meet a racing star. The bar is decorated with pictures of the some of the many racing stars who have stayed at the hotel, which gives the bar a distinctive atmosphere. The prices in the bar are extortionate though - you're looking at £5 per drink.
There are all the usual facilities at the hotel that you would expect, and others that you wouldn't - golf course, spa, gym,19m swimming pool, aerobic and dance studio, sauna, steam room, tanning rooms.
