I stayed at this hotel about 5 years ago and it had recently been refurbished. It is tucked away down a side road but that meant that it was quiet and peaceful. The rooms were large, clean and very nicely decorated with two double beds, good air conditioning and double glazing (making a cool haven tyo retreat to in a very hot city)), good quality soft furnishings, lovely bathrooms and plenty of nice toiletries. The staff were friendly and the breakfasts were excellent with a good range of hot food as well as cereals, fruit, yoghurts, cheese and hams, breads, pastries, cakes, fruit juices and champagne. We really didn't need lunch after such a good spread for breakfast!
The hotel is not in the 'centre' of Barcelona as such but it is just a couple of hundred yards from a metro station and even closer to Barcelona's Magic Fountains (think Queen and the Barcelona Olympics). All the sites of Barcelona are easily accessable by tube or bus and transport is very cheap. We noticed that the hotel is used by airline crew and experience has told me that that is usually a good indication of a good standard of hotel at a reasonable price. After plenty of internet research we got our room with breakfasts for two for £50 a night and even taking into account that this was 5 years ago, it was good value for money.
