I have no reason to complain about First Great Western, I take it from Reading to Bath every couple of weeks and I have to say that there really has not been a problem with it.
I admit that the carriages to get very full and I have to end up standing inbetween them in the noisy areas but it depends on the time of day you go.
Buffet, haven't tried although at the moment you get get a cheese burger, 500ml of coke, bag of big walkers crisps for 3.99 which isn't to bad when you think about it.
I think it could be cheaper I suppose as it is pretty expensive. I got caught one time before 9am and they charged me 45 pounds, where after 9 its 25.
The train although is very noisy, from inside you can't hear it and the ride is great and effortless, its a very quick way of getting from one place to another. I have never been more than a few mins late and there is always a train to your destination.

Advantages: Pleasent Staff, always there to help! Disadvantages: No leg room, very dated, uncomfortable seating, and not enough space to put your luggage.
