However, none of the skiing has been lost.
From the short beginners ... ...off piste skiing that is at the top of the cable car Flaine offers many miles of skiing for all ability levels.
With a variety of small bars, Flaine can cater for most nightlife but is in essence a skiers resort and as such understands that most will be on the slopes bright and early in the morning. New Year is to be highly recommended.

If you are looking for a quaint little town with expensive hotels and shops then Flaine is not for you (go to Austria), however if you are looking for high quality skiing with few frills then I could not recommend it more.
