This hotel is right in the middle of all the action in Magaluf. We stayed here on a half board basis and really got value for money. The Flamboyan Caribe is 2 seperate buildings. The Flamboyan part is the hotel with the caribe part being appartments.
The hotel is situated facing onto Bananas and Car wash night clubs as well as being next door to a few pubs. Very handy for falling home after a late night.
However at the back end of the hotel is the beach. The hotel has private steps leaving the pool area which takes you direct on to the stunning, very clean beach.
The hotel itself is situated a bit off the main road. The reception area is very clean and friendly however the staff were not very good at understanding English. We were situated on the first floor, above the entrance and facing onto the main street. The first night it did cause problems as we had requested a pool/sea view room but after the 3rd night we soon got used to it.
We asked to change room and were told we would have to pay 10euro per day to move room. The room were were offered was 5 floors directly above the room we were in so there would be no difference to the noise. The sea view rooms would be more expensive.
The rooms were cleaned 6 days out of 7 and our towels were changed daily. they were basic but very clean. Typical of your spanish hotel room. 2 single beds, wardrobe, patio doors, dresser, TV with limited sky channels. Bathroom was standard but the main thing - no beasties.
Meal times were in 2 sittings. Breakfast was between 7.30am - 9am or 9.30am - 11am, dinner was 5.30pm - 7.30pm and 8pm - 9.30pm. Breakfast was buffet choice. Cereal, fruit or hot cooked foods such as eggs, bacon, hash browns etc. Dinner was also buffet but had various themes throughout the fortnight. They had spanish tapas, mexican, seafood special (they even had fresh cooked shark - yuk).
We were issued with tickets for the early sittings for both breakfast and dinner and found that going to the dinningroom 15 mins before the end of the sitting meant you got a lot of fresh food. The chefs were constantly reviewing the food and on the evenings when there was meat being cooked, they were checking the meat with thermometres for temp. Very reasuring when eating meat abroad.
The resturant had a sea view and made meal times very relaxing. It really gave a mediterainian (sp) feel when eating.
The waiters were all very friendly and even took the time to ask your name and address you each night.
The pool, as previously mentioned, was at the rear of the hotel and had a sea view. The sun loungers were limited so it was a case of leave your towels then go for breakfast. There were also a lot of inflatables in the pool which made it difficult to have a relaxing swim.
We also noticed that the pool was open to locals ater 6pm. Although they didn't stay for long it did interupt evening dining when facing onto the pool area.
the stairs to the beach were private so we didn't have many people cutting through the swimming area to reach the beach.
The hotel didn't have much entertainment at night and the entertainment it did have wasn't up to much. The fact that the hotel was in the middle of everything made up for this.
It did have a pool table and a bar which was opened late but apart from this, the hotel didn't have much to offer on the entertainment front. There was no entertainment during the day for kids either. Reps presence was limited.
Overall this hotel was brilliant for us. We were a couple looking to relax during the day and drink/dance at night. It was in a brilliant location, excellent value for money £450 total for 2 weeks half board.
I would go back to this again although i'm not sure i would go with kids. Defo great for couples and singles.
