Anyway... the music range is from the 60s up to the 90s and is always funky! Unfortunately for me, towards the end of the night, they do play more modern songs - but everyone likes different things I suppose! A typical playlist would be:
Boogie Nights - Heatwave Let's Dance - David Bowie Can You Feel The Force - Real Thing Walk The Dinosaur - Was Not Was Celebration - Kool & The Gang Don't Stop Me Now - Queen Stayin Alive - Bee Gees Dancing Queen - ABBA Blame It On The Boogie - The Jacksons Disco Inferno - The Trammps
... and so on.
For anyone on a budget - ie. students (me!) - the drinks are excellent value. There are themed nights every night of the week where there are different offers on drinks:
Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday: The Hustle - £1.50 - VK, V Ice, Carling, Stella Artois, Smirnoff & mixer, double spirits £1 extra
Thursday: Go Bananas - £1.50 - VK, V Ice, Budweiser, 2 for £3
Fridays: Foxy Fridays - Cheeky Fishbowl (Vodka & Red Bull) £6, Cheeky Wimto £3, Cheeky Apple Pie £2
Saturday: Disco Inferno - (Check on the night)
There is an extensive range of drinks available if you are not partial to these drinks in particular. Also, designated drivers can drink soft drinks for free - all they have to do is contact the manager in advance!

Being on the dance floor is like being in a music video - the floor is lit up and there are flashing lights and disco balls suspended from the ceiling! The only bad thing I can say about it is that it is quite small, so when the club gets busy it fills up fast.
I have always found the staff here very pleasant, including the bouncers and the DJ - who often wears afro wigs and sunglasses to get into the spirit! These wigs can be bought behind the bar for a small price, also flashing tiaras, glittery wigs, and handlebar moustaches! I have never bought these myself but they look very fetching!
There are not many downsides to this club, but the only things I will say is that it is not very big, there is not enough seating (but the seating that IS there is VERY comfortable!), and the toilets aren't very well looked after - I am only speaking for the ladies here.
The club is available for private hire for parties, which is great - although I haven't taken this oppotunity.
I have had many a great night out in Flares, strutting my stuff on the podium next to the DJ! Mainly because you're out of range on the television screens if you dance there! I would recommend this club to anyone who likes a good range of music, a good laugh and a good all round night out!

Advantages: Great music! The decor is great! Disadvantages: Prices on drinks are a bit steep!
A little while ago I wrote a review on Flares nightclub in Swansea, mainly because I like the place because the music is fab (i.e. NOT chart music). Well, here's another one to add to your list - Jumpin Jaks - It's The Best Party in Town!
~~~ The Company ~~~
At the last count, Jumpin Jaks had 27 venues around the UK. Jaks has been in Swansea for 10 years now, I'm not sure about any of the other venues. On it's opening 10 years ago, it didn't take long for people to start flooding in, and it's still just as popular now. Despite Catherine Zeta Jones-Douglas frequent ramblings about her beloved Swansea and Jumpin Jaks, the people around here still love it.
You can see and hear the Story of Jaks on the website, although it is a little difficult to understand as the quality of the sound isn't very good. This is what I gathered from ...
