Firstly the staff are invariably friendly. They take your needs into account - I usually do ... ...they are their own consolidator - there's no middleman. They can usually offer any destination at a really good fare. If you have received a cheaper quote they do, honestly, beat it - usually there and then - provided you book and pay that day. If your quote is very much lower than theirs they do hold your seats for you whilst they verify your claim - but they still beat it even if it means losing money for them (it happened to me once - or at least ... more

Firstly the staff are invariably friendly. They take your needs into account - I usually do a complex journey but that's never a problem. And because they are their own consolidator - there's no middleman. They can usually offer any destination at a really good fare. If you have received a cheaper quote they do, honestly, beat it - usually there and then - provided you book and pay that day. If your quote is very much lower than theirs they do hold your seats for you whilst they verify your claim - but they still beat it even if it means losing money for them (it happened to me once - or at least they claimed that!)
They have always sent tickets out within a few days - again because they are their own consolidator they can do this quickly.
Bad points? It's not a free phone call, in fact it's national rate so if you are phoning in the middle of the day it might cost a bit - but you'll recoup the cost in the airfare saving probably! They also operate normal office hours so again not ideal if you're busy yourself. That said, they do contact you by email promptly if that's more convenient. The only other problem I experienced was that their weekend staff tended to be different so you can't always speak to someone who knows about your booking which is usually possible during the week. If you prefer face-to-face contact I suppose this isn't for you..although they are happy for people to drop into their London branch. I also liked the fact that they didn't pressurise me into paying by card - you can send a cheque and they're quite happy with that.
Overall - I would thoroughly recommend them for an honest quote for any international airfare. I think their number is still 08705 66 66 77.

Foreboding closed in further when lead down the 'Smoking' corridor to our room, with 207 unlocked for us. It wasn't until the guy taking our cases had left that we realised there wasn't a window. Or rather there was one, which was frosted, because it opened out into the corridor. The bedroom was at this 'front' bit, with a dingy dressing room and bathroom at the back (against the external wall). Claustrophobia strikes!

When booking my flight to Nepal, Qatar Airways came out to be one of the cheapest and the most direct, but I was pretty sceptical as I basically had never heard of them before! Booked through The FlightCentre, even the guy I booked with, knew little about the airline. But it was cheap, so I thought I'g give it a go.
Thankfully the gamble paid off as the flight to Nepal was nice and easy. Qatar Airways have a new fleet of Airbus planes, and they look new too, nothing shoddy or cheap about them. Nepal is a fair way to go, but there was enough leg room for a comfortable journey.
There is on board entertainement (although not a personal screen)with the latest films on offer. The food was very good, and filling and there were always hostesses on hand for drinks. The flights I took were not full, so I was also able to have ...

I found South African Airlines exceeded my expectations, the inflight service was good on both the long haul sectors and the short haul domestic sector from Cape Town to Jo'burg. The flights were punctual and the staff very attentive with a good attitude. I would definately recommend sitting at the side of the plane for long haul flights as the seat pitch seems to be less in the centre seats. On the London to Cape Town route I think this is the superior carrier, the flight attendants are more personable and willing to help than on BA and Virgin and the entertainment system is far superior to BA's. Price wise I have found they are extremely competitive if you book in advance. ...
