...Just around the corner from the Stefansdom and the Hoher Markt, on the corner of Schultergasse and Jordangasse, the Artis is a small five screen air-conditioned complex, showing films exclusively in English. The titles it gets are always very current although there are also special showings of classics from time to time. The fact that the cinemas are air-conditioned is great in summer when Vienna is renowned for being exceptionally sticky and muggy.
Ticket prices are not too bad, between ATS75-95 for a seat, and the kiosk offers a good selection of drinks and sweets at not too unreasonable prices, with the "Bladder buster" as we've nicknamed it - 1l of coke/sprite costing ATS55. As per a lot of cinemas in Austria there is a "Kino Montag" whereby seats are cheaper on a Monday night (usually all seats ATS70 instead of the above prices...

Advantages: Eimer is 'the' underground club in Berlin & there are nights of dancing to Daddy Hemingway & his Blackriders Orchestra. And, it all begins around midnight, sometimes rolling until 7 in the morning! Disadvantages: It's a must that the night bus system is working because taxis don't stop in front of the Eimer. They are afraid of Squat People, the drivers. If you're a girl, take some mace with you. You might need it.
...room of the café you would be in the kino where a Russian dj was playing an eclectic mix of musi and showing videos of a trucks driving through the streets of St. Petersburg.

...Achtung: Dies ist NICHT das Scala Kino in Berlin, sondern die Discothek in Bremen.
SCALA
Die Disco SCALA, eine weiße Villa, war ursprünglich eine Nobeldisco, in die nur Mitglieder und ausgewähltes Publikum eingelassen wurde. Das hat sich vor einigen Jahren geändert und leider kenne ich die historischen Details nicht, aber heute gilt die Disco SCALA als Russendisco. Geschmäcker unterscheiden sich nun mal, aber ich halte SCALA für eine sehr nette Disco, mit annehmbaren Publikum und gutem Klima. Man muss auch nicht unbedingt Russe sein, um Gefallen an der Disco zu finden.
Wichtig ist nur, dass man in angemessener Kleidung erscheint. Also saubere Schuhe, Hose, Hemd. Wenn man aber erst gegen 02h00 erscheint, wird da nicht mehr so genau darauf geachtet.
