Flynn's has been in its current location, looking exactly as it currently does since the dawn of mankind...whilst the rejuvenated Quayside area can boast many trendy bars and restaurants & other fab new buildings, Flynns has been seriously left behind in the cool stakes. Regardless of whether I've been in with the girls on a clubbing night or in with the lads for a loud N leary beer fest, I always end up with the same opinion : that Flynn's is a dark, dingy, low roofed meat market which wouldn't be out of place in Newcastle's Bigg Market circa 1985. Admittedly they do some cheap happy hour deals, but the quality of the stuff served is a bit like the clientele - out of sorts. I'm not sure how Flynn's has managed to remain as it has when all around sems to be in a constant state of renewal. Its probably because it's conveniently located slap bang in the middle of a 3 minute hike between the next bars on either side ot if (3 minutes is a long walk in Newcastle bar crawl terms) Just as well really - seeing as the only time I go in is (A) if I'm dragged (B) gasping for a drink (C) desparate for a wee.
