Advantages: Purpose built but doesn't look it. Fairly quiet ideal for families Disadvantages: Fairly quiet, only one tour operator goes there
Folgarida is situated in the Italia Dolomites. Three resorts of Folgarida, Marilleva and Madonna Di Campiglio all link together seamlessly. Everything is here for a great ski holiday - excellent scenery, superb hotels close to the gondola and friendly people. The resort is great for beginners and the instructors excellent. My two children 8 and 6 had a wonderful week of instruction and were magic skiers by the end. The chair lifts are easy to manage and help is always on hand. Folgarida is famous for its scenic blue runs ideal for beginners. Intermediates can enjoy longer runs with plenty of good reds. Folgarida is purpose built, but still attractive. There is a small row of shops and a few cafes and bars - plenty of cafes and bars on the slopes though.
The resort is mainly frequented by Italians as only one tour company operates there - Equity Ski from England. The coach transfer time from the airport (Turin) is 2.5 hours and a very sceneic drive.
I would recommend it for a wonderful ski holiday if you don't want too much night life - if you do then there is a night club to provide late night apres ski!
