I went to the 1997 Australian grand prix. Cheap flight into Sydney then a train to Melbourne. I was able to find a hotel with no problems even though I hadn't book. I had pre-booked the race ticket (grandstand opposite the pits) and enjoyed the whole weekend. With the lake in the centre of the circuit it was a nice change during day when nothing much was going on. Even though the circuit is flat the race was enjoyable. The staff around the circuit I found very professional, even though I was asked how long it had taken me to travel to the grand prix (36hrs) and if I was coming back next year!! all the food joints always gave every customer a smile and looked glad that you were spending your money with them. Overall it was the greatest circuit I have visited, and the weather is hot as well!!
