Much as though the bathrooms in particular are becoming rather dilapidated, this hotel still represents good value for its price band.
It is the tallest Hotel in London.
The rooms themselves are good. The beds are comfortable, but occasionally I have found dirty fridges with leftover food inside. They assured me they would tighten up on this, as I had this same problem on more than one occasion.
The common areas have recently been refurbished and there is a bar which is quite fun in the evenings. It is used by quite a few airline staff.
It is located just off the Cromwell and Gloucester Roads, SW7 and has close access to the tube (2 minutes) and thus Heathrow Airport, as well as being on lines which take you to the City, Victoria (for Gatwick) and the West End. Buses are not so good (only 2 routes I think), but taxis are always available.
This particular Hotel is part of a large chain, which has a very good reward scheme, with points being able to be logged for future visits and also airmiles being allocated to whichever airline you choose. A most unusual feature is that with this loyalty programme, you do NOT lose the points each year and don’t have to start again.
The staff are helpful and the food ok, but I would not rate the food THAT highly. Like so many hotels, the food tends to be expensive. There are SO many restaurants nearby, as well as pubs offering 'good pub grub'.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Hi Tim, I haven't rated your review yet - it's a good start but if you look at some of the other hotel reviews rated helpful and above you will see the level of detail members of Ciao expect. More information about location, prices and how you booked would be good. Put a space between each paragraph. You don't have to waffle for ever, but try and imagine everything you would want to know before booking if you had the chance to ask, and work through in order. Let me know if you add more information to this one and I'll have another look, though it maybe when I return from my own holiday. Luci
