With Seb Fontaine, Oaky and Mauro Picotto regularly gracing the club with their presence plus John 00 Flemming and Dave Pearce as monthly residents the club has gone from strength to strength. Each month sees a different decour at the venue as it remains as fresh as the day its doors opened way back in February. Resident Jimpy is worth the entry fee alone and he could be the next superstar DJ as he has just signed p with Deviant, home to none other than PvD himself. So get yourself down to V2K every Friday and watch as the ETD team blow you away.
Advantages: Lots of different shops, helpful staff Disadvantages: None
The Forum is a shopping centre in the middle of Helsinki. It's only a few hundred metres from another shopping centre, Kammpi, which also houses the bus station and a metro stop. You'd think that two large shopping centres might struggle so close together, but both seem to be thriving.
The Forum is built on several floors and has what you'd expect of a shopping centre: a lot of shops. Most of them are clothes shops, generally aiming at the teenage/early twenties market. So, like a lot of UK shopping centres in that respect. Wandering round, you'll see a few shops with familiar names. I spotted a H&M in there and the inevitable McDonalds.
There are cafes and food shops as well. I had a very nice (only slightly expensive) sandwich from the Fazer café. There is plenty of choice of what to eat, whether you want a stylish sandwich ...
Advantages: Great facilities! Disadvantages: Depends how far you have to travel!
In General:
Years ago, this place was a rundown centre of the town, with hundreds using the facilities every day it wasnt ideal and needed a renervation. Which it gladly received...
Looks:
It now looks modern with a highly colourful exterior, the modern look doesnt end there. Inside the Forum, local art is shown ina miniture gallery. Making it a nice place to visit when you have a few minutes spare.
Facilities:
Including a library, Gym, Swimming pool, Walk-in Centre and even a cafe this makes it fully appopriate for all ages. Old and young now use this and it really brings the community together, well as together as it can be!
Prices:
The prices are really affordable;
Gym: £5 a time or £40 a month! including access into the pool, steam room and sauna!
Cafe: Although I have never used the cafe i understand that ...
Advantages: Near tude station, modern hotel Disadvantages: Expensive car parking
I recently visited London for a couple of days (Monday to Wednesday) and rather than sleeping on a friends sofa decided to try out a website I had seen reviewed on Ciao (priceline.co.uk). After trying the site a couple of times to see the variation in price I booked a 4 star hotel in the Kensington area for £41 (plus taxes etc). When the confirmation came through I was informed that the room I had booked was in the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum (for anyone who has never seen this site before I recommend reading some of the reviews on it, it will save you loads of money.). The only downside to the site is that you don?t know what the hotel is until you have booked it so I was relieved to see that it was part of the Holiday Inn chain and felt confident of having a pleasant stay.
