Advantages: clean and comfortable Disadvantages: bar is expensive
We stayed at this hotel for a short easter break earlier this year. Having booked the room for three nights through a cheap last minute holiday website including flights, it turned out to be very good value for money. The hotel itself is well worth the four-star rating. The bedroom and ensuite were both spacious, well-equippped and clean. Furthermore, it was cleaned every day while we were out. The hotel staff were very helpful. I only speak a little bit of French, but this was no problem as they all spoke fluent English, which was welcoming and a relief. Be warned though, as is common in the rest of Nice, the prices in the bar were very high- I paid six euros for a small pinapple juice there, which as nice as the bar is, and as good as the service was, is, I think, a little excessive. Nevertheless, a good stay, and would go there again. ...
Three words to describe this hotel, "Oh my God!!"

Nice as it looked, there was no one around to deal with deck chairs and parasols. It doesn't matter anyway because our room wasn't available to get changed into suitable clothing. To the right of the hotel was a building site ...
Advantages: Beautiful buildings and a look at life for many ordinary citizens of Beijing Disadvantages: Can be busy and cramped
A hutong is an ancient alleyway or lane found in Beijing which can date back as far as the Yuan dynasty of China in the 13th century. The crisscrossing alleys can now offer a glimpse of another part of this ancient city that is quite different to the major attractions such as the Summer Palace or the Forbidden City.
The tiny, twisted and interconnected lanes wind through whole areas of the city of Beijing. The lanes are lined with traditional stone houses all arranged in quadrangles, so four houses around a courtyard, which are beautiful old fashioned buildings. They often involve carved pillars, window frames and doors and the open spaces of the courtyard lets in air and light to otherwise quite cramped areas-some of the lanes really are tiny with less than a metre of breadth. Most of the hutongs are still used as housing and are ...
