We managed to get a special offer room for 60 euros per night and were very surprised to end up in the Hochzeit zimmer, or honeymoon room.
Location The only difficulty we had was with the location of the hotel, we should have looked into this before arriving in Dresden to make sure we knew where we were going as we were using public transport, and the hotel was out of the main city centre. The hotel is situated on the Altstadt side of the Elbe, were the Zwinger and opera house are. We took the tram to get to the hotel it took about 10 minutes and is the stop is near the hotel. The bus takes about the same length of time and the stop for that is right outside the hotel. It is a lot easier if you buy your tickets in the city centre, for any journeys you intend to make as we found the ticket machines did not always take notes.
The Hotel It was very clean and the staff were very accomodating. The staff all spoke English, which was a great advantage. Any request we had they were happy to deal with, including reserving our seats online for our return flight to England.
The Room A very clean, good sized room, with a sofa desk TV and bed. The ensuite bathroom was a very good size and had a full size bath as well as a power shower. The windows were double glazed so we didn't notice much noise from the street. The only English channel we avaliable to watch was CNN.
We didn't eat in the hotel as we decided that 16 euros was rather a lot to pay for breakfast. Instead we chose to try the local bakeries. Both the Bakery accross the road and the bakery/market nextdoor were great value for money. We also ate in the Hot Wok a Chinese restaurant opposite the hotel, as it was more convienient than going into town on our first night there. I cannot recommend it highly enough, the food was fantastic.
Overall The Four Points Dresden was a great hotel to stay in for great service and rooms of a high standard and very clean, but the food was very pricey for us when there was so much good food around in the local area for much less money.
