La Rochelle is a town on the West Coast of France. It is a large harbour town, and at one point in its history it was the largest harbour in France. Sant Omerrrrrrr

Advantages: Small, attractive buildings, friendly people, close to several sights
Disadvantages: Shops quite small, dog mess

I'll begin this review with a word of advice to those otherwise lovely Britons who might pronounce the name of this little town as something like "Synte Homer". It's better to say it like the title with a great big overemphasised "rrrrrrr", just for fun.
