Art Deco Hotel in a lovely "arondissement"!

Advantages: Excellent weekend rates, quiet area, clean rooms and friendly staff.
Disadvantages: Gives misleading information about itself, our bags were left unattended in the hallway.

...itself The Neuilly Park Hotel is a 3* Hotel in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Paris. Their promotional literature has the Hotel down as "A charming hotel offering a choice of thirty rooms. Each room is decorated according to a different theme and combines originality, elegance and refinement. The decors will astound you and transport you to a different world every time you stay." We did see some themed rooms prior to booking and they were very impressive (have ...
...are calm, quiet and leafy. Neuilly is an affluent district, so there are lots of nice restaurants and typically french street cafes and bakeries. It is a bit further out of the centre than we would have liked but the nearest metro stop, "Les Sablons" is handily located on the same line as the Arch de Triomphe, the Champs Elysées, Place de la Concorde, the "Tuileries" and the Louvre. The metro runs from 5.30 a.m. until 1.20 a.m, so not ideal if you ...

WE TURNED IT INTO A HEN HOTEL!!

Advantages: Style without too much cost
Disadvantages: Spent a foutune on Taxi's

Stayed at the Hotel for the weekend 18/19 Feb 06. Relieved to find this was a delightful establishment, very clean, friendly hotel. En-suite rooms were relatively large, VERY comfortable, well decorated. Cleanliness is top of my list of priorities and this definitely fitted the bill. Nice licensed bar, evening meals (didn't sample those). Breakfast was well cooked 'English' plus toast and cereal - excellent, not the greasy stuff you get in some places. ...
...in the area! We were a 'hen' party of 13 but had given assurances that we were not immature, rowdy, drunken types (true). There were also a couple of other single females there and 3 lads, all of which behaved impeccably, we probably all rolled home at various times in the small hours but there wasn't any late night doors banging or unacceptable behaviour. The hotel did not make us feel discouraged from having a good time, just to show polite consideration ...

Hôtel Restaurant La Flambée -dine in style but bedrooms plain.

Advantages: Beautiful dining room
Disadvantages: Bedrooms adequate but not elegant.

...account as possible about the hotel as I can provide. Hopefully this may help if you are planning to visit this part of the world. We flew to Bordeaux but the most convenient airport for the hotel is actually in Bergerac as the hotel lies about 2 miles outside the town. Incase you are not familiar with this part of the world these places are in the main wine growing areas, and are in South West France. Flying time from the UK is about an hour and ...
...to enjoy. The hotel La Flambée is a family run hotel and you can visit the website at www.laflambee.com Our first impression as we saw the hotel was that it was inviting, and the reception was friendly and welcoming. Our room on the first floor was a double and created mixed feelings. We have been to quite a few French hotels and have found the rooms to have a decidedly romantic feel to them. This room was not in this category, but it was certainly ...

Bon Vacances at Port Bourgenay

Advantages: Masses to do, something for everyone.
Disadvantages: Maybe a bit pricey in high season

...for Port Bourgenay, run by Pierre et Vacances, as it looked like it was in a perfect location, is close to the beach, and there seemed to be a lot to do. It cost somewhere in the region of £1000 for the accommodation (£250 in deals) for seven nights and £300 for the return ferry. ~*~ Location ~*~ We live in the south west, so a Portsmouth - Cherbourg crossing is ideal for us. We always get the earliest ferry (around 9am) so we arrive in France around ...
...our accommodation and settle in by bed time. Or so I thought! This really wasn't the easiest place to find at all. We knew the main towns that we had to head towards: Rennes, Nantes, La-Roche-Sur-Yon, and finally onto Les Sables-d'Olonne before following the signs for a few miles to reach our destination. We estimated that this would take us about five hours, but given the good old French road signs, my map reading and stopping for a wee and not ...

Best Western Le Donjon Les Ramparts certainly not Best Value

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Split into different buildings, expensive.

...perfectly honest that was the best bit. For those of you that have visited and enjoyed your stay I will apologise now but we absolutely hated it, if I had wanted a theme park I would have gone to Disneyland! The city was full of the most horrendous ‘tat’ gift shops selling everything from fake suits of armour to tee-shirts with knights on them and really awful ‘attractions’ (I use this word loosely) such as the haunted manor and weapon museum. It ...
...The rooms pictured on the Best Western website looked nothing like ours. I can only imagine that they are executive rooms and not standard ones. While ‘grumpy’s’ room had been recently refurbished ours looked like something from the Crossroads Motel. (Old midlands soap opera). It was shabby! The furniture had seen better days, the walls could have done with a lick of paint and you had to run around to get wet in the shower. ‘Grumpy’s’, on the other ...
