Campanille Hotel
Advantages: The buffet, clean and tidy rooms, good value. Disadvantages: Nothing to do, heavy smoking and a good 40 minutes drive away from Disney.
...2006), we stayed at a Campanile Hotel in Nogent sur Marne. It is situated just outside the city, along the river Marne, in the countryside near Paris. We had no idea what the hotel would be like until we arrived but I was assured it was at least a 2* establishment. The tour company gave me the name and address prior to leaving the UK but I could not find many detailed photographs on the internet. www.expedia.co.uk gave a view of the front of Campanille ... ...*** TO CONCLUDE***
This Campanile hotel offers an economical stay on the outskirts of Paris, with easy access to the city centre and the train station is within easy walking distance. The bus line 114, 120 and 210 also takes you into Paris. For a tourist rated 2 * hotel the place is very clean and tidy, with daily room service. Though very dated inside, it is quite good value for money but I would not stay there any longer than necessary. If you ...

You're going to do what to my car!!!!
Advantages: Clean comfortable hotel on the outskirts of Paris Disadvantages: Limited and awkward parking
That we were going to be in Paris at all had come as a surprise; a nice one though. Any visit to Paris is OK by me. This time is was my beloved wife who had made the arrangements, without telling me anything about it. There was good reason for this. It was as an early birthday present to mark one of those major milestones in life, the one that tells you that retirement is big on the agenda.
Early because it didn't actually mark the big day itself. ... ...consideration he could have arranged the Genesis Live in Paris concert to coincide but there you are; these big stars don't think about these things I suppose. As it happens, had he done so we couldn't even have attended anyway as we have other plans for then!
This tour date was being held in the Park des Princes stadium situated beside the Peripherique on the south-western corner of Paris, in the Boulogne-Billancourt district. Whilst it is perfectly ...

Nice hotel, but you'll need to remortage to stay here!
Advantages: Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, Lake Disney Disadvantages: Prices,Prices, Prices!!
First things first, as we pulled in to the grounds of the hotel and I saw it in front of us, I thought I was seeing double. Never in my life have I seen a hotel this big, and with 1100 rooms, there will certainly always be availability! The hotel was certainly impressive and from the front had a look of the White House with great big white columns. The hotel has a nautical feel, which was aparant as soon as we walked through the huge doors to check ... ...hiccup occuring, whereby they didn't put our tickets in which we had prebooked and paid for a meal but this was quickly rectified. We then made our way down to our room, which took us about 10 minutes to walk to, so after effing and blinding as to the distance we had to walk, this was soon forgotten as we realised we had a ground level room facing Lake Disney. The room was standard with two double beds, a tv, a dressing area and of course a bath ...

Hôtel Restaurant La Flambée -dine in style but bedrooms plain.
Advantages: Beautiful dining room Disadvantages: Bedrooms adequate but not elegant.
...account as possible about the hotel as I can provide. Hopefully this may help if you are planning to visit this part of the world. We flew to Bordeaux but the most convenient airport for the hotel is actually in Bergerac as the hotel lies about 2 miles outside the town. Incase you are not familiar with this part of the world these places are in the main wine growing areas, and are in South West France. Flying time from the UK is about an hour and ... ...to enjoy. The hotel La Flambée is a family run hotel and you can visit the website at www.laflambee.com Our first impression as we saw the hotel was that it was inviting, and the reception was friendly and welcoming. Our room on the first floor was a double and created mixed feelings. We have been to quite a few French hotels and have found the rooms to have a decidedly romantic feel to them. This room was not in this category, but it was certainly ...

Bon Vacances at Port Bourgenay
Advantages: Masses to do, something for everyone. Disadvantages: Maybe a bit pricey in high season
...for Port Bourgenay, run by Pierre et Vacances, as it looked like it was in a perfect location, is close to the beach, and there seemed to be a lot to do. It cost somewhere in the region of £1000 for the accommodation (£250 in deals) for seven nights and £300 for the return ferry. ~*~ Location ~*~ We live in the south west, so a Portsmouth - Cherbourg crossing is ideal for us. We always get the earliest ferry (around 9am) so we arrive in France around ... ...our accommodation and settle in by bed time. Or so I thought! This really wasn't the easiest place to find at all. We knew the main towns that we had to head towards: Rennes, Nantes, La-Roche-Sur-Yon, and finally onto Les Sables-d'Olonne before following the signs for a few miles to reach our destination. We estimated that this would take us about five hours, but given the good old French road signs, my map reading and stopping for a wee and not ...
