Le Grand Parc, Tigers and Gladiators in France?!

Advantages: Unusual and brilliant spectacle
Disadvantages: Its all in French!

We have travelled to the Vendee region of France several times and we had heard about The Grand Parc at Puy du Fou but it is billed as a Medieval Theme Park and it really didn't appeal to me! However having "done" many of the attractions in the area and faced with another day of dodgy weather (we were very unlucky in 2008) we decided to give it a go. The tickets were about 25 euroes for adults and 15 for children. However when I enquired about directions at our campsite office they told me that we could buy tickets from them with a 5 euro discount each. This seems to be common practice in the area so either book online or through your accomodation if possible to bag a bargain! Le Cervin Plange Soleil France Odlays Residence

Advantages: Ski to/from door, close to centre, smal village quiet, parking
Disadvantages: Tatty, tired, basic no frills.

This review is on Le Cervin Apartments in Plagne Soleil at 2050M in the resort of La Plagne French Alpes. I am also going to review the whole area of La Plagne in a different review as I think it will be to long to put both together. In the other review I will price items and talk about areas other than Plagne Soleil. Well where to start, oh yes. I must say it was not our accommodation of choice so forgive me for the negatives but we were supposed to have a fully catered for chalet in Plagne Centre. Le Cervin as I have already mentioned is in the resort of La Plagne in France which is made up of 7 varying sized areas. The Cervin is partly private and partly public available block, when I say this I mean that some are run by Odlays and others are privately owned all in the same block. The Expérience Cinématique that is Le Grand Rex

Advantages: Good atmosphere, la Grande Salle,
Disadvantages: Expensive, small screens

Going to the cinema during your visit to Paris might not top of your list of things to do, but Le Grand Rex is certainly not your everyday cinema. Histoire Le Grand Rex was opened in 1932 and is the oldest cinema in Paris. It has a long and interesting history, from its opening night on the 8th of December 1932, attended by a ritzy, glitzy list of 3,300 VIPs, to its occupation by the German soliders, who used it as a place to watch propaganda films. The building is decorated in a typical art deco style, whilst the inside, particularly the 'Grande Salle' - the biggest room, which also boasts the biggest screen in Europe - is a mixture of art deco and baroque style.
