Advantages: Central and reasonably priced
Disadvantages: far too much choice at breakfast.

We stayed in The Best Western Frankfurt Plaza in July 2006 as part of our fabulous summer holiday in Austria and Germany. Not having booked any of the trip I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel in Frankfurt. I was even more pleased due to the rather grotty hostel we had just frequented in Innsbruck, Austria. Anything would have been better than that! Review coming soon. The hotel is a three star and has forty five rooms all easily accessible ...
...to take us to the best area for restaurants and a drink afterwards - we were dropped at the Römerplatz, where the summer festival was in full swing! This taxi journey only took five minutes. As the river is so close it's easy enough to walk along the river to reach the Römerplatz in the evenings and this would only take 10-15 minutes. Advantages: Great Little Hotel, Superb Location, Excellent Value...
Disadvantages: A Few Idiosyncratic Problems ...

...room at the four-star Hotel National online, about a week in advance. We arrived in Frankfurt on the 7th of July 2005, the morning of the London bombings. As we passed through the arrivals gate, a German television news crew pounced at us, and a rubbery, suntanned man in a linen suit thrust out a microphone. ...THE HOTEL: The Hotel National is very centrally located, almost directly opposite the Hauptbahnhof, an imposing edifice that houses Frankfurt's main train station. We found it without any difficulty whatsoever. The hotel's exterior seemed a little more dated than its publicity photos had led me to expect, but it is nevertheless unimpeachably clean and well presented.
