Situated at the very North of The Island of Fuerteventura is the town of Corallejo.

As this is my 10th Holiday abroad in the last 7 years I would say that I am experienced enough when I say that the apartments (Punta Elena) are one of the best that I have stayed in. In fact only one other apartment has been better. They are 3 star in the Cosmos Brochure and I would recommend them to either families, couples or elderly and disabled. In this case we travelled as a family 0f 4. The rooms were spacious enough and the furniture was almost new. Very Clean. No one would be disapointed with these apartments.

Not only were we delighted with the apartments, but also the reps were very informative, helpful and excellent with the children.

The pool area too was lovely and a life guard was on duty from 10am until 6pm. Bar snacks and drinks are available from 10am until 6pm or so too.

Reception is 24 hour and is shared with Las Olas across the road.

Before you go to Fuerteventura , please ensure that you don't mind fairly strong winds. For example Parasols and chairs were regularly blown over (but not blown away)around the pool area, and if you had been swimming the winds did make you feel really cold once you came out the water. I was rather disappointed by just how strong the winds were.

The small beach (situated in town) which Cosmos says is 700metres away from Punta Elena is not of the highest standard. There was more than the odd bit of litter lapping the shores, and we also saw broken glass in the sand on 3 different parts of the quite small beach (Approx 300 - 400 metres). This beach however was just one of around 150 different beaches on the island and one we would particulary recommend is Las Olivas Beach which is just a 5 minute taxi ride away costing only 4 euros. This beach was beautiful but If you are a beach bum and like to sun yourself then Fuerteventura probably isnt really the type of place for you. As we all know sand does get everywhere at any beach, but with the wind being extreme on the shore, to the point you cant really hear someone a few feet away then im being honest when I say that you do look and feel like a piece of sandpaper soon after visiting. Having said that the beach was beautiful to walk along and to look at and the waves were a few feet high. The children had a great time, but as far as sunbathing goes give it a miss, unless of course you like sand in your lotion.

Before we went to Fuerteventura we read a nightmare report from a couple who stated and slated. They said that all the restaurants were complete garbage. As I read on I was quite concerned. However it all became clear once the couple advised that they were chefs, and obviously perfectionists to the trade. We ate out every night and morning and we could not complain about any single aspect of any meal that any of us had, and that's 56 meals. Of course we have our favourites which for Evening meals is Don Camillo 3, and for good old English/Scottish breakfast is Hot Spot. We thought that the service was good, the taste was good and we were never ever ill - as does happen.

Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is a place with not much to do other than Sunbathe in the wind, Windsurf or well that's about it really. It does have a Zoo and a new Golf Course has just opened, but there is nothing else. Even if you hired a car their is nothing to see, other than other windy beaches. There is plenty of pubs, but none that have any entertainment at night for families. So if you are a couple then you may well like this, but there are many other places we would rather go first. There is no water park. So there is no entertainment for kids full stop. Any organised trips that we were advised of were to the neighbouring Island of Lanzarote. So why come to Fuerteventura to see Lanzarote when you can goto Lanzarote to see Lanzarote and have less wind and more things to do? The last 5 of my holidays have all been to the 4 biggest of the 7 Canary Islands - Tenerife, Gran Canaria , Lanzarote and finally Fuerteventura. One would think that all 4 Islands would be more or less the same but this is not the case. Each does obviously have similarities but also have their own uniqueness. Personally It depends on your circumstances and what you are looking for from your holiday.

I would guess that in around 20 years time Fuerteventura may have more to offer. So Futureventura
