A winter break to any of the Canary Islands is generally considered a safe bet for a bit of sunshine to drive the winter chills, but Fuerteventura is not immune to cold spells and heavy rain bursts.
The weather on this barren island is still far better than back home in England during the winter months, water sports enthusiasts take full advantage of the strong winds.
Corralejo is one of the biggest resorts the island. The word ‘biggest’ should not be confused with overdeveloped because in truth Corralejo is nowhere near as busy as destinations on mainland Spain or some over the more lively resorts on neighbouring islands.
There is a reasonable variety of night life and places to eat without ever really being spoiled for choice. There are quite a number of bars catering for the British market, and for those who want a home from home watching the footie on Sky Sports you'll be fine
Food wise there are several Chinese restuarants in the resort, and if you look hard enough you'll be able to find a curry house. Lots of steak houses and fish bars and there is even a decent eatery for vegetarians. Gibsons, just off the main street provides for veggies and meat eaters alike and has good quality food, well priced and a decent choice for us animal lovers. Well worth a visit.
As the town is so small there isn’t a great deal of interesting places to see, although you could head off for a walk in the deserted sand dunes near by but your best bet is to hire a car and see the rest of the island.
If you fancy a bit of a pamper check out the spa called Mirak which is about 20 minutes away on the bus. Located on the edge of the small town of Parque Hollandes Mirak has a sauna, whirlpool, outdoor swimming pool and a range of treatments available. It also has a handful of bungalows should you wish to stay. For the day it was very nice and quite reasonably priced
Overall, the holiday nice without being spectacular. The all year round sun was present most of the time, but then so were the strong winds and the sea and the swimming pools were painfully cold. Corralejo is still quite a small town yet relative to its size it's still quite commercial.

You can more or less always rely on the Canaries for a bit of winter sunshine. I’ve been to Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria but not yet made the trip to Fuerteventura. Lexy

We propose some unforgettable holidays in "El Capistrano Villages", in Nerja, the privileged balcony of the Costa del Sol. "El Capistrano Villages" is, possibly, the most beautiful and exclusive Urbanisation on the Costa del Sol.
Advantages: Good legroom, Surprisingly good inflight meals, wide selection of entertainment, friendly crew Disadvantages: As flying in Premium I went into Economy and it looked cramped, although I can not properly say!!!
