The Fullerton Building was built in 1928 and has housed the General Post Office, the Exchange, The Chamber of Commerce and The Singapore Club. The most recent occupants were the Singapore Post, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, and a branch of the POSBank. The Fullerton Hotel enjoys a fabulous location right in front of the Merlion. It is also very close to The Esplanade, the newly opened music and theatre venue. Town is the hotel's bistro cafe and bar, Jade is the hotel's Chinese restaurant featuring contemporary Cantonese cuisine. The Post Bar has retains the original ceiling of the General Post Office and features a Crustaceans Bar, the Cocktail Bar as well as a Music Room. There are 400 rooms in the hotel and all have swanky bathroom featuring a separate rainforest shower area and a full size bathtub. There is internet access and 24 hours room service as well. I would recommend this hotel because of its handy location and easy access to public transport. Raffles Place mrt station is only minutes away from the hotel.
Advantages: Location, location, location Disadvantages: Service not 5*
I visited the Fullerton recently for a business stay - its 1 minute from Raffles Plaza, and the best location for the CBD. The first impressions are that it is going to be a really slick 5* hotel with all you would expect in terms of service. Check-in was efficient and they showed me up to the room which was a nice touch. They also remembered me when I returned. The service is certainly friendly and all the staff are polite and accomodating - only ... ...if I had remembered to take things out of the safe!
Taxis are plentiful outside the hotel (guest have a priority queue, which was only needed when raining!), the airport shuttles can drop you off and all taxi drivers know it. address: 1 Fullerton Square. see www.fullertonhotel.com ...

Advantages: A great city full of things to see and do Disadvantages: Perhaps not the best Asian city to visit for the full far eastern experience
. We arrived in Singapore when light was starting to fade and it was awesome to wander along the riverside past Clarke Quay and sit watch the traffic along river and see the evening lights bounce off the spiky façade of the theatre. It has caused debate among some who think it an eyesore but personally l thought it was a remarkable triumph to contemporary architecture.
Merlion
A water feature shaped as half fish half lion and is thought to be the symbol of Singapore. Another photographic point for tourists to be found just past the famous FullertonHotel past a lot of swish restaurants. Also whilst walking along the riverside to see the Merlion there are a lot of sculptures done in bronze which depict 5 playful children leaping into the river.
There are many other sites and sounds in Singapore - including that of the wonderful ...
