Advantages: The whole day can be spent in the Tower Disadvantages: Very expensive
...The BlackpoolTower is one of the main tourist attractions in Blackpool, situated on the promenade. The Tower was built in 1894 and in height it stands at 158m (518ft) tall, The BlackpoolTower can be seen from other places such as Morecambe Bay and in September the Tower is illuminated which is a beautiful sight.
I have visited Blackpool on several occasions and each time I have made a point to go to the Tower, there are a number of activities in the Tower which are suitable for all ages. Over the years BlackpoolTower has changed in many ways and it is as enjoyable now as it was when I first visited Blackpool.
The Tower Ballroom - The Tower Ballroom has been in the Tower from 1897, the ballroom is absolutely amazing and has held shows such as Strictly Come Dancing among others, there are also shows held in the Ballroom on certain...

Advantages: good view on a nice day Disadvantages: where do i start?
...I hadn't been up Blackpooltower since i was 8 so to say this visit with my husband and 2 year old (plus a new one in a pram) was a disappointment is an understatement.
We went with another couple who have a 3 year old boy so we were looking to make it a big day out.
Firstly the shabby entrance is not the most inviting. There is no ramp at the front to allow ease of access for prams or wheelchairs. You have to enter the back way for this.
Secondly the prices. It shopuld have been £33 for a family of 3 so i questioned our little lads age to see if he could get in for free. I was told he had to stand against a board with a picture of the tower on it. The basics were if he was taller than the tower - he had to pay. Now my lad is approx 3ft and he was a whole head above the tower. Luckily we had a free child entry vouvher with us...

...-rack" trams, the tower, the beach that stretched to the horizon, the arcades along the front ("catch-pennies" as my grandmother called them), Pablo's two-inch thick ice cream wafers, fizzy pop from bottles with wire-hinged ceramic tops, Bloomfield Road stadium where the likes of Matthews and Mortenson still performed - I could go on in this vein endlessly. My heart still quickens to the litany of "Lytham, St Annes, Squires Gate, Blackpool South" the slow sequence of stops through which the train from Euston chugged before arriving at last at old Blackpool Central station, now demolished.
Returning as an adult was always enjoyable, but never quite the same. How could it be? To our cost, we all lose our childhood capacity for wonderment. My visits tailed off, and after my grandmother died I did not go to Blackpool for nearly twenty years, until...

I visited the Broadway Hotel in October 2007, and was very disappointed with the standards of accomidation in which the Broadway Hotel had to offer. I have never stayed in such a dirty and poorly presented Hotel, in all the years in which I have visited more
I know, I know, Blackpool is perceived as fish'n'chips, bucket and spades, amusement arcades, B&B's. What about something different?
